I'd rather have a 2nd round pick in the weak 2017 draft.

So with Hamilton and Frolik having career years, and Janko looking really solid in the AHL should we be concerned about Ricardodw's well being? This had to have been a really rough season for him. Hope he's ok

I just checked his profile out of curiosity cause he hasn't posted here in forever.
Turns out he's still here (logged in two days ago) but I guess just doesn't post anymore, presumably because literally everything he stated and predicted is turning out wrong.

As wrong as Ricardow was, I don't think I've ever seen anyone put in more futile research and calculating trying to push a false narrative.
The best part was how arrogantly he proclaimed those things like he was the lone wolf who had it all figured out.

Jankowski is right on schedule to be the piece of the puzzle that puts this franchise over the top. Having a 6'4" playmaking shutdown centre in the middle 6 is going to make this team one of the deepest in the league down the middle.
He's been percolating away for 5 years, growing into his frame and learning how to use his high end hockey IQ against grown men. Next year the chains are off.
Let's get dirty.

bit mindblowing that Janko was drafted 5 years ago. Man, time really flies.
For ####s and giggles, here's how the prospect pool looked back then. HFs top 20 in the fall 2012:
1. Sven Baertschi, LW
2. T.J. Brodie, D
3. Max Reinhart, C
4. Johnny Gaudreau, LW
5. Mark Jankowski, C
6. Roman Horak, C
7. Greg Nemisz, C
8. Micheal Ferland, LW
9. Bill Arnold, C
10. Patrick Sieloff, D
11. Laurent Brossoit, G
12. John Ramage, D
13. Joni Ortio, G
14. Lance Bouma, LW
15. Tyler Wotherspoon, D
16. Jon Gillies, G
17. Markus Granlund, C
18. Ryan Howse, LW
19. Paul Byron, C
20. Akim Aliu, RW
http://www.hockeysfuture.com/article...-top-prospect/
Of those 20, only 7 are still in the organization. 6 others are with other NHL teams (or at least on an NHL contract), 3 are in Europe, 3 are retired and Aliu is a journeyman in the minors.

Damn, 8 guys on that list are in the NHL right now. With Janko knocking on the door. Gillies and Wotherspoon might become something.
So 50% of the top 20 prospects from that list can be NHLers. I'm quite surprised.
I wonder where this group was ranked by HF that year, im going to guess and say in the mid to high 20s.
Just found it, 23rd.

So, with 4 games remaining, do any of the centres need time to let nagging injuries heal? Janko must have his bags packed and waiting by the apartment door.
We Red Wing's this kid, and we're going to be rewarded. I just know it.

The Heat have clawed their way back into the playoff picture and are now tied with Bakersfield for the final playoff spot. Both teams have 7 games remaining.
I don't know if the Flames would want to call up the Heat's best player, especially when guys like Lazar and Hamilton could benefit from getting some ice time down the stretch.
Once the Heat's season is over, I'm sure Janko will be one of the Black Aces in Calgary, but until then, let the kids finish what they've started in the AHL.

If this happens it will be quite something, especially the way Backlund slow cooked into a 50 point two way possession monster and also "arrived" at the exact right time.
1. Draft Backs in 2007, slow cook him for 10 years
2. Draft Janko in 2012, slow cook him for 5 years
3. Draft Mony in 2013, fast tracks and steadily improves as a two way center
4. Draft Sam in 2014, stumbles a bit, but is only 20 still
5. 2017/18 comes along and WE WIN ALL THE STUFF!!!!

Heard on the radio a few minutes ago that Jankowski has the team record now for point scoring streak at 8 games. he also had a 7 gamer apparently.
Kid has sure been on a great trajectory....hope there is one more step he can take and excel at.
