At 1:36 Bennett, Tkachuk, and Hamonic are having words with Lucic and Draisaitl. Doesn't look like Gulutzan is involved at all, other than giving Draisaitl a wink at 1:50.

I never noticed the linesman go flying in that scrum until later in that clip. Was it Bennett who bowled him over trying to grab Kassian?
Looking again, it was super cheap of Kassian. Tkachuk has no helmet, and is looking to get into the play when Kassian attacks.

Holy crap he got smoked. Bennett hits him. Looks a little confused and shaken when he stands up.
Broadcast is sickening once again. “Kassian thinks they’re going to go, and then they just go at it”.
“Draisaitl with a big (sloughfoot & interference) hit”

I noticed that as well on the broadcast. I was wondering if he was feeding Draisatl something to get under the Flames skin, but who knows.
Seeing the 3rd period comebacks and how the team is NOT mentally weak this year makes me appreciate more and more how Gulatzan isn't the coach.
To me he was the epitome of over thinking as a coach. Obviously he was doing or saying something in his approach towards coaching the mental side of the game that was the complete opposite of what the team needed.
Last year they consistently wilted when things got tense or emotional and when something bad happened they fell apart waiting for the sky to fall.
If a team doesn't have dominant leadership they take their lead from the coach. Maybe Gio and GlueGun didn't really have a parallel thought process on the mental side, or maybe Gio just doesn't over think it and goes out and plays. It seems like Peters approach is more like Hartley and Gio's leadership is once again able to thrive.

I didnt notice this but Tkachuk shaking his head at Kassian on the way out looks like he's making fun of Kassian being bald, showing off his hair to him

Well looks like most Oiler fans want the coach fired asap. Oilers brass will let him get blown out by his former team first.

Ryan Smyth has a mullet, former Oilie, currently involved with an Ajhl team so transition will be seamless. Ermmm...except his Ajhl team probably has more depth.

Is there a comparable example in NHL, nay, professional sports history, where so much opportunity has been so incompetently squandered?
