Looks like Quinn and Remenda are gone from Sportsnet entirely...

So, no danger of them getting reassigned to cover the Flames.

Listen I am an ardent E=NG supporter, but credit where it is due, that made be chuckle. I mean not as much as the years upon years of futility in Mulletville, but a chuckle none the less.

This news definitely makes Oil telecasts a little less no good, but I am confident that they will quickly find ways to more than make it up.

Not that I cheer for people losing their job. But the sheer and absurb level of homerism from those two was really unprofessional. Now if they could shoot Principe into the sun.

So happy to never hear that stupid ovvvvvveeeeerrrrrrttttttiiiimmmmeeee winner call again.
I’ll probably miss that absolute despair in his voice when the Oilers get scored upon, which is going to be at record pace this year, but this is for the best. But I bet this Jack Michaels dude has the homerism amped up to 11 too.

This is the prospective lineup after camp:
RNH - McDavid - Kassian
Kahun - Draisaitl - Yamamoto
Archibald - Turris - Puljujarvi
Ennis - Shore - Chiasson
(Neal, Haas)
Nurse - Bear
Jones - Larsson
Russell - Barrie
(Bouchard)
Koskinen
Smith
These guys are going to get plowed this year.

They could totally be claiming Kylington when you look at that blueline

That D is all kinds of weak. Nurse can't protect Bear defensively. Larsson-Jones is meh. Russell-Barrie is a decent 3rd pair (assuming you have a 1st and a 2nd pair, which they don't)
The bottom 6 won't add points, aren't physical, aren't fast (collectively), and aren't much defensively. They are literally 6 invisible guys filling the time between McDavid shifts.
And don't even get me started about the goaltending.
Staples may recognize more names than he is used to, but their depth is still complete garbage.

The only guy that Kylington would supplant is Bouchard. Maybe they look to do that, but the Oiler way is to give kids like Bouchard plenty of opportunity. Remember: failure is the path to success!

Holy crap, I've been lying to myself for a couple of weeks, because even though I thought the Oilers would be absolute trash, this lineup is worse then what I could imagine.
Kassian on their first line, I guess, but he looked like complete garbage after MT ripped his brain and his heart out and he was garbage after signing that contract.
That second line is awful, it won't be long until they switch RNH and Draisaitl because Leon just doesn't create, and he's awful defensively. Yamamoto is probably the player that I would say is going to step back the most.
That bottom 6 is awful.
That blueline looks like the worst blueline in the Canadian Division, and their goaltending is big trouble.
I expected more from a team with years of drafting high. But they've gotten very little from their draft position.

Kevin Quinn was horrible but don’t kid yourself, Jack Michaels is also terrible.

I would play Kylington over Russell personally. I think there is a better chance a team that is working on asset accumulation and development is more likely to claim Kylington anyway like Ottawa or Detroit.
