2) He tries to justify dissolving congress because he is already bypassing them on big issues like attacking other nations or imposing tariffs

Alternatively, Trump's demands from Minnesota to get ICE out of their state is all of their voting records. This is likely so they can plan to rig the election in their state.

Whichever way he goes it will be a dangerous time around the world as the US will go absolutely insane. Canada and Mexico in particular would need to buckle up and prepare for anything.

From Carney's perspective, "buckling up" means avoiding a Canadian election for as long as possible. He would need to try and lock down Alberta and Quebec separatist threats and he would need to think hard about eliminating American influence on the Canadian people. I've posted a number times about how Americans own a lot of our corporate media but the CBC did a piece on how American AI companies are now setting up to be a massive source of disinformation for Canadians.

I highly recommend everyone watch the video and think on it.
I’d bet the reason they kidnapped Maduro is to get a false confession regarding 2020 election interference (timing) which then gives Trump cover to seize voting machines as per Rudy’s guidance in 2020. Then Maduro gets a pardon.

I didn’t see any of PP’s speech (thank god) but from what I read on CBC, at least he avoided the “Canada is broken” rhetoric this time, and seemed to promote Canadian unity instead. Baby steps. Good for him.

It's hilarious to hold onto PP. Notoriously unlikable and lost a layup of an election. Lost his own riding and had to be parachuted into AB. Career politician with literally zero track record of accomplishing anything. Like, if you're a conservative you should hate this guy. It's like you want to lose.

You give him too much credit. He has a new slogan for his simpletons though. Block baby Block!

I wonder if the rumblings we heard leading up to the convention (eg: expect more moderate CPC -> LPC floor crossers if Poilievre retains leadership) come to fruition now.

Only 2500 CPC members out of 600K + voted for PP?

I think I heard you could only vote in person- that probably kept the number of voters lower

Ah so it was another case of parachuting him into a guaranteed scenario rather than a real one?

Lol how in the hell do they keep Poilievre in that position after he lost a gimme of an election all on his own, proceeded to lose his own seat and needed to move to a different district altogether just to stay?! Not going to complain though haha.

You also had to be a "real person" who "lives in Canada". Considering the CSIS report about foreign interference in the last CPC leadership race, it stands to reason that their massive increase in membership was not entirely legitimate.

I think it's worth complaining about, even as a usual liberal voter. Cheering for the Cons to have a crappy leader is just "my teaming" no different than them. I've voted every federal party at one point or another. I was down for going blue this time but PP and their whole agenda was just nonsense. Meanwhile, the Liberals nominated Better and More Interesting Harper. The choice was easy.

I don't want an easy choice. I want real opposition that's going to actually challenge when necessary, and agree when they should. Not just cry for the sake of crying like PP constantly does. Or trying to take their ball and go home like AB UPC.

Not that I could see one let alone any of these outcomes happens, but hypothetically what would happen if the CPC were to somehow win the next federal election with Pierre as party leader from an Alberta riding and then Alberta separated from Canada? Assuming the CPC wouldn’t lose a majority federally if Alberta left.

I mean aside from it being both hilarious and depressing on multiple levels.

Reiterating what you said before, I’m actually pissed about this. He is weak competition. A career opposition guy… no chance at leading anything. I want strong competition from all parties so that they are more inclined to actually show up for constituents.

It’s also feels like I have even less representation from my MP under this latest iteration of CPC. I don’t know if it’s directly from PP, but CPC MPs seem gagged more than they were under Harper.

It is directly from PP. He is constantly gagging his MPs and telling them to avoid talking to the other parties.

For example, your MP cannot go to the Liberal homes minister to advocate for housing programs in your riding and if PP finds out that they are talking he will punish the MP.

He is an Authoritarian, not a Conservative.

This is why one should join all of the parties and try to help each of them be the best version of themselves.

And how do you propose that someone goes about joining all the parties?

I think you can in Canada. I am technically a member of the Liberal and Green parties. I’m not really engaged anymore though.
