I'm not sure they needed to push that much that early.
On the 3rd goal it's a central free kick for Lampard so why are so many guys in the box? It's a direct kick on goal, not a cross into the box.
Lampard hits the wall, stands there complaining and the break is on.
The disallowed goal doesn't hide the fact that it's a very poor English team. If the English think 'we would have won if the goal counted', they're in for more failure.

Nigel Reid's awful.. England didn't show any attack, effort or pressure? They sent 9 men forward and got caught on the counter!
I hate CBC.

Venezuelan girls in the hot Brazil sun!

although I think Brazil is below the equator too so is it cold there?

A quick search shows it's 26 and sunny in Rio today.

I agree. The Germans ended up with 4 goals, had better goaltending, and their ball control on offense blew the Brits out of the water.
The English had no business thinking they could go anywhere in the tournament, considering they couldn't even beat the lowly Americans.
I will commend both teams for playing a masculine game. God, I hate the diving teams.

I don't think that it is "we would have won" but "it would have been different". That was potentially an extraordinary shift in momentum there that ended up being a gut shot.
I agree that there was no reason at all to push ahead so early (and so completely). When England finally showed some desire up front, the rear completely failed them.
Terry is a pylon and Barry runs like a tree.

EHH Oezil needs to quit his Burrows act though. It's getting old.

Even after that goal that wasn't allowed the Brits carried the play most of the time up until the 3rd goal.

The yellow on Johnson was a result of a dive. Pretty good game for lack of diving overall however.

And the third was a direct result of pushing forward because they needed an equalizer - what part of that do you not understand?

GER was dissecting ENG in the first half when the game was tied too.

I'd agree with that. I didn't get why they allowed themselves to be as exposed as that. They were only down by one.
It was a poor England team, very poor.
Rooney had a 'mare, totally and completely. His touch deserted him in spades. Overrated? Yes, at this level.
Gerrard again was not used effectively and was a shadow of what he can bring to his club side.
Lampard, why is he even in the team. Sure he scored but he brings so little to the table at the international level.
Defensively. Slooooow and then some.
Germany. Young, vibrant, explosive. Very impressive.

That doesn't really matter.
Who knows what would happen when the score was 2-2? You don't.
The young Germans could have imploded after blowing a 2-0 so quickly, with England running rampant and not having to be exposed defensively.
On the other hand Germany may have gone on to win 6-2.
We'll never know.

at least we all can still point and laugh at the Italians for not winning a single game and getting booted in group play.

Capello is a big name coach, why doesn't he have the guts to sit one of Gerrard or Lampard? They cannot play together.
Have a midfield of (L to R) J.Cole, Barry, Gerrard, Lennon

Put him in the box and have him fall down?
sorry...could not resist
I hope that the EPL takes a good look at this and makes some drastic changes for the betterment of domestic football.
