Good grief what an ugly win by the Packers on MNF.
The amount of penalties on both clubs was just absurd...2nd most penalty yards combined in NFL history. 11 pass interference calls in total among all that. 7 turnovers combined.
That being said, Rodgers was really good when needed and Flacco likely cost his team the game throwing a really ill-advised INT in the endzone when his club was only down 10 pts in the 4th.
GB has to figure out what to do at CB where Tramon Williams simply isnt ready for full time duty as evidenced by his 3 PI calls against. And the club HAS to cut down on infractions alltogether...just not going to cut it should they get to the post season.
Looking forward...games with PO implications this week,
Pitt at Cleveland (Pitt has to win, or they are done)
Det at Baltimore (ditto for the Ravens)
GB at Chicago (little breathing room for the Pack..gotta win)
Den at Indy (Denver need to keep winning to be secure)
Mia at Jax (Huge game in the WC scenario)
Car at NE (likely clinches first for all intents and purposes if NE wins)
NYJ at TB (Jets much like Balt, Miami and Pitt ahs to win out)
SD at Dallas (huge game for both clubs to stay atop their divisions)
Phi at NYG (Giants lose and GB win...that race is likely over as well, NY win and everything changes)
Tons and tons of intriguing stories this weekend. Love the NFL this time of year.

Any chance they flex the game this week-end. I doubt it, but you could create a debate as to these two games. I know Minny plays an intriguing game but not twice in a row.
Den @ Indy
SD @ Dallas(always a primetime fav with the media adn the new stadium)
I can see them leaving it as is, however next week will most likely get flexed for sure. Minny and Carolina just doesn't have many implications for both teams.
I can see next week Cincy at SD being flexed, thats a huge game with #2 seed on the line. Plus Cincy didn't hvae one primetime game this year

No way...that Philly/Giants game is huge for PO implications... as well any NY/Phi game draws MASSIVE numbers...bigger than just about any other matchup not featuring the Cowboys.
on top of that, its way to late to flex the game.

The NFL will decide (after consultation with CBS, FOX, NBC) and announce as early as possible the game being played at 8:15 p.m. ET. The announcement will come no later than 12 days prior to the game. The NFL may also announce games moving to 4:05 p.m. ET and 4:15 p.m. ET.
Week 17 start time changes could be decided on 6 days notice to ensure a game with playoff implications.

Thanks for sharing. It really think the Lions have themselves a real gem in Stafford. He looks like a leader and sounds like a veteran in those clips. Not to mention the courage he displayed on those final two plays. It appears that the curse of Bobby Lane could really be over in Detroit.

Things have sure changed since the days in Sun Devil Stadium. I went to a few games back then. Every time the stadium was 3/4's full of opposing teams fans. No such thing as a tailgate at that stadium either.

You could add Saints @ Falcons as well. Atlanta still has a pulse.
Speaking of kickers, what's the status of Vinitieri these days for the Colts? I can't see the Colts keeping Stover on the roster once Vinitieri comes back. I would think the Saints might have their eye on Stover should he become available because John Carney has been scary of late and was inactive last week.

Stover has been great for the Colts. He's gone 9 for 11 on FG's (one of the two misses being on a kick over 50 yards this past Sunday) since coming in and taking care of the kicking duties. Stover has given the Colts a tough decision but ultimately this is Vinatieri's team once he recovers from the knee injury. I think Vinatieri will be out 1 more week at minimum (the Denver game) and perhaps even 2 more (short week vs Jacksonville). I think he will be back vs the Jets to give him practice of kicking at Lucas Oil Stadium since he won't be playing anywhere else for the first few rounds. I can't believe the Ravens cut Stover. Stupid move by them that worked out great for us.
You do realize that the 100 wins that the Eagles have in this decade are the most in the NFC. I'd be pretty happy to have a guy like Andy Reid with his track record coaching my team. He's not perfect but he has a pretty solid track record. Name me a coach out there who hasn't done something stupid that cost his team a few wins.

Reid consistantly mismanages the clock and his timeouts, foolishly challenges plays that everyone knows he's going to use, and can't develop a solid run-game. These are all things that most teams need to win a championship. I agree he's one of the best coaches in the league as far as personnel management and development goes, but his game-management is on the same level as Herm Edwards.

That was great, I'd love to see one with Brees and the Saints comeback against the Skins. On another note, the Lions had better spend a healthy portion of their draft on offensive linemen.

No doubt, the Lions do need a lot of help on defence, but they'd be wise to get Stafford some better protection. If they keep him healthy they have a real chance to get back to respectability.
