Looks like Felix has lost his confidence. Started the match off bad and never really recovered.

He played much better against Watanuki in DC than he did tonight. He looked pretty sullen tonight to be honest, just couldn't get himself going. It's been a tough year with injuries, but I think he needs to part ways with Fontang and try a different coach.

I agree. I haven't really been a fan of Fontang's approach with Felix which relies on serving the lights out to be successful. He should be an all court player on every surface and is not a good enough baseliner to just be content to stand back and hit groundstrokes, and almost exclusively top spin shots to boot.
This result in Toronto is really catastrophic considering he is supposedly healthy and was completely rag dolled by an 80 ranked player. Felix needs to develop more variety in his game and get away from using his inconsistent two handed backhanded as much as he does.

Wow, Mackenzie McDonald just knocked out Bweh in straight sets 6-4 6-3. A 40% first serve percentage for Andrey for the match is yikes bad.

Milos is in action taking on Taro Daniel as I type. On serve early in set 1 with Daniel serving at 1-2

Milos picks the best time to break with Daniel serving at 4-5. Keep it going big man!!
Edit: And now Milos break early in set 2 playing some sublime tennis.

Even at this point Roanic is possibly the most consistent male player in Canada. His ceiling maybe not as high as Felix, but at least you know his floor isn't going into the basement at any given time, against any given opponent.
Great showing by the big man regardless of what happens against Macdonald as the US Open draws closer. He's never had much success there, but this time it feels different if he's going in healthy and with nothing to lose.

Sealed with an ace!! Milos through to round 3 with a 6-4 6-3 win over Taro Daniel. As HF said above, Milos gets Mackenzie McDonald next and an excellent chance to advance to the quarter-finals.

His serve is still devastating. Getting aces on second serves.

Speaking of second serve (returns), Milos hit three forehand service return winners in set 2 that the speed gun recorded at 146, 151, and 152 kilometers per hour.

Still the best serve. That 'thud' when it hits the wall.

It won't happen, but if Johnny Mac wants to win the Laver Cup in Vancouver, he should add Milos to Team World. The way he is serving plus playing indoors is tough to beat.

I have got to say, Diallo has grown immensely since I last watched him for any length of time at the Calgary Challenger. He is looking like a player that is willing to play with margin, but has the racquet skills and movement in his big frame to be a very solid pro.
The way he's playing DeMinuar at the moment is very encouraging stuff.

He may have no choice if Kyrgios can't go and Shapo doesn't turn it around.
Aside from Paul and Cerundulo, it would be hard to argue that anyone outside of Milos is more deserving.

Yeah, you might make a case for De Minaur to step in for Kyrgios and then you are replacing one Aussie with another.

DeMinuar breaks Diallo to go up 5-4 in the first. Some pretty ragged volleying by the Canadian showing he still has a lot left to learn, but great to see him playing a very solid game nonetheless.

La Monf sends Oikos packing 6-4 6-3. The crowd was certainly rooting for Gael despite a strong Greek community in Toronto.

Yeah, I think it's only a matter of time before Diallo cracks the top 100 and then we'll see how far he can climb. Already up to a career high ranking of #133 going into this match.

Love the aggression is Diallo's game, he knows he can't get into a rally fest with De Minaur, strike first tennis is the key.
