We're 3 ROW's ahead of them, so if neither of us gets any more points, we end up with the 5th pick.

Isles will very likely have less ROWs than us, as we currently have 27 while they have 24. We will need to finish with at least 1 point less than them in order to finish in 27th place.

^ ^ ^ Flames beat Isles twice (Feb. 6th , Mar. 7th), and we have 27 ROW's while they only have 24. Basically we got to have less points than them if we want the 4th pick.

The isles pulled a pretty clutch tank job today, up 2 late in the 3rd against Washington.

This pervasive attitude that every time one of these teams loses is "tanking" is gettig really annoying.
The Islanders are 6-2-2 in their last 10 and if they were really tanking, wouldn't have gone up by 2 to begin with.

If any team is trying to tank its probably the one playing guys right out of the NCAA while guys like Reinhart/Street/B.Jones/Sven are sitting in the AHL.

That's just as bad as accusing the Isles of tanking.
The NCAA players that are here are due to contract idiosyncrasies. And it's not like bringing in another AHL player is going to make them more competitive.

I'm saying if you're going to accuse the Islanders of tanking, the Flames moves have been more questionable than theirs, not that either team is tanking.

I do as well. I believe that our team's efforts this season has the hockey God's smiling upon them. Winning the lottery will be our reward.

If the hockey gods really want to smile on us, they can give us the lottery win in 2015. I'm fine with 4 or even 5 this year.

John Moore @rinkrant
Tallon on Ehlers "great entertainment value, explosive & not afraid to go in tall trees. Don't think there is a better skater in draft."
John Moore @rinkrant
Asked if @FlaPanthers would take Ehlers in top 5, Tallon replies "Why not? He reminds me of Patrick Kane & we took a chance with him."
So if you believe that Ehlers could definitely play spoiler for the top 4.

Pretty sure he's bluffing... but I do think Ehlers is a wildcard... someone could take him higher than expected.

They're in the 2nd spot right now, no real reason to bluff. Ehler is a top 5 talent.

I remember Burke said at a breakfast seminar that tallon is the best talent evaluator in the NHL. "He can look at a player once and know his ceiling" ...

He's got a pretty crappy draft record so I doubt that's true.
Other than the really high picks (Toews.Kane), there's no impact players from his Chicago days.
Too early to tell with his Florida picks.
