Based on the downtown re-entry map, a good few people might be at work on Monday.
I'm just hoping the orange area stays closed, having all of downtown open is going to add a volume of commuters that surely won't help the problem.

Oh and if that Andy guy truly was sorry he would get out here and help. Might just change his opinion of the people he said should eat #### and die

Don't worry boys I got this.

I sell to ALL of the sawmills in AB and BC.

My contacts are all the buyers and production managers.

They will all know of Andy G on Monday morning.

Any site/info to give a bit more context for this map?

Comes from the city, at calgarycitynews.com, basically just says here's the areas open for re-habitation.

Very good. I can concentrate on passing his name along to my contacts in the reforestation industry.

Key word: re-habitation...I don't care what my employer says (work in Barclay Centre, 7th ave + 4th st) I'm not going in until Wednesday / Thursday. 1) there is still a ton of work to do downtown and I don't want to be in the way and 2) I've got friends + co-workers that have had there houses flooded. 3) Can do 95% job on cell and from home.

Yikes, just called Kananaskis golf course to cancel tee times this week. They just got power back on and will be closed the rest of the year. The guy on the phone said the damage may be irreparable and no more golf course. First world problem but that place was a gem.

With transit down and parking garages flooded how many people could even commute to work downtown at this point?

+1. I hope that Nenshi addresses this because a lot of people are going to think it means we can return to work... I don't think that's what re habitation means

Some companies & people just do not 'get' the devastation that occurred. I guess the Husky tower got missed; however if transit is not running the companies downtown should not reasonably expect staff to come to the core when the city, CEMA are telling citizens to not travel unless necessary. Getting to a job in an overall affected area is not 'necessary'.

After what has happened 'maybe' more companies will look more thoroughly at 'telecomuting' as an option. For myself whenever my office building gets power restored I expect we'll be asked to work from home, but as well i expect staff not affected directly also may be allowed some volunteer days to help those who are in need.

One of the O&G companies has this for their employees:
Calgary Employee Flood Update

UPDATE: 7:50 pm Saturday, June 22nd
The downtown core continues to be inaccessible, as a result the Calgary office will be closed on Monday, June 24th.

The flood is the flood is the flood. It is exactly what it was, devastating. I never said anything about feeling sorry for myself or whatever it was you insinuated.

Your comments were negative towards me and had no bearing on anything I said and was an attack on me for no reason. You quoted me and made out of context statements, simply pathetic.

Well to be honest, there's not much value in debating the intended meaning of re-habitation since it was a word I chose, not the city. The city has simply lifted the mandatory evacuation, and the area is now open for re-entry (their wording used).

I'd imagine the City will address the downtown further at some point today to discuss plans for the upcoming work week.

Just to be clear, Husky corporate communications has not said anything about going back to work. The latest (yesterday) was there is limited access to the building if required and they would update Sunday afternoon with additional information on access.

I would imagine the west side would be pretty unaffected (which is basically what that map shows) and if the power can be turned on to a portion of the downtown network then maybe they allow some companies to get back to regular-ish business.

You know what? Please don't. We can all be proud we took one stupid thing a young guy said and ran with it to the point of it completely defining who he is as a person until the end of time. Forget all the good he may have done in the past and all the good he may do in the future, one insensitive and lame attempt for Facebook 'likes' will affect him forever.

WTF CP, the point has been made. Now let it go and think about if you want to be part of the pack picking at his bones. His Facebook account has been deleted and he's lost a job reference. This will follow him forever and that's too high a price. We are way better than a pack of Internet bullies. I hope some of you go back and remove his name from your posts. It's embarrassing for that to have been a focus of so many posts.
