Honestly I'm a little surprised its coming out at all. With all of the back lash against the series and the death of the main protagonist who was literally the best part of the series, I thought they would put some speckle on it and call it a day.
Its sad for me, that unless its animated I just don't have much excitment for live action star wars except maybe Andor.

Meh, Ahsoka is just a lame and uncompelling character and then they jerked her character around in ways that dont make sense and the whole thing was a mess.
I think they were committed to a second season, but it really looks like thats going to be it.
And I like the idea and character of Thrawn, hopefully they can just kill off Ahsoka and then move him to a different series or something.
Andor is the real shame here. That was a really good show, but these outrageously long production gaps really sap the wind out of it's sails.
Same with Mandalorian, etc. Its 10 episodes. It takes 2-3 years?

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.

Yeah I'd much rather see a regular schedule of a few good shows than 10 different series, with most being pretty half assed.
So I read that Ahsoka S2 isnt coming out until mid-2026 and that they're going to wrap it up because they are not confident in a 3rd season.
Good. That show was a steaming pile of garbage. Filoni needs to stay in his lane and go back to animation. Just leave the live action stuff to Favreau and Gilroy.
It is too bad about Andor. I think the Acolyte could have been redeemed. I liked the principle of it and showing the arrogant side of the Jedi that was usually only stated by various Sith elements the prequels but without providing any substance to the claims. At least in the Acolyte you got a real glimpse at what the Sith were talking about.

Even in the animated stuff, although theres some really good content there, I just dont see why people are so enamored with the character of Ahsoka.
She seems like a bit of a lame character to me. I dont understand the fascination.
And the live action show was just an unmitigated hot mess about people we dont care about. At a point I was hoping Thrawn would win and just wipe them all out so our suffering would be over.
"Hey Ahsoka...this is my favourite airlock...do you want to go inside and have a look?"

Inspiring when they don't see a future in 2 of their 3 best running shows.
My god get some real leadership in there that gets SW already.
Not sure ive ever seen such incompetence drag on so long without the whole thing being put out to pasture.
Which ones are you thinking? I'm thinking their top show is easily the Mandalorian followed closely by Andor.
Their biggest problem with the Mandalorian is being victims of their own success. Your star character in Pedro Pascal is a huge draw at the moment, ergo he is going to be expensive to retain and his time and availability is going to be limited which makes filming difficult.
I dont know what the hold-up on Andor is unless its similar, I dont know what Luna is up to but presumably Skarsgard was busy with Dune? Thats all just a guess though.
I do share your feelings of this being inexplicable. Studios are penny pinching wherever they can, writing, effect, staffing, etc and yet they're paying huge Executive salaries to people who dont seem like they'd be qualified to run a Hot Dog stand.

I was laughing about the fact that television has gone to short seasons and long gaps between seasons, and then mid season breaks.
I'm over 50 years old, I'm lucky to remember how to tie my shoes, let alone some plot line from two years ago, and a show like Ashoka isn't good enough for me to do a review watch before the new season comes up.
I really liked her as a character in the clone wars, she had a really good journey that could have ended in Rebels, and her story could have been expanded in what she did between ANH and Rebels, they did a good job in Tales of the Jedi, but there was more to tell.
I also think that Disneys Quantity over Quality strategy has kind of burned me out on Star Wars, that and the brutal Sequel Trilogy. So when they announced a new movie or trilogy, I just thought, I'm not all that interested in seeing more from Rey. Don't get me long I love Ridley, I think she did a good job with a bad character and a bad series of films. But she's not someone that makes me want to watch another 9 hours of movies.

If the Acolyte would have been a series about Qimir it had the potential to be good. You could explore the Sith Philosophy, and answer the question, is he a acolyte under Plagueis or a rival.
I mean listening to Qimir talking he was decidedly not Sith like in his beliefs.
It would have been fun to see if you could fit a young Palpatine into this whole thing.
Instead the main story line was a mess, and the most interesting character was a side character.

They're cutting Andor and Ahsoka after 2 seasons.
While Ahsoka fell off in its second half, it at least managed to sustain some hype and appeal to a segment of OG star wars and rebels fans.
So I guess you can call Mando, Andor and Ahsoka their top 3. Although Mando is going to the big screen and probably won't be able to retain Pascal long term since he's a highly sought after actor these days who also doesn't have a great relationship with Disney (allegedly), hence why he only provided voice overs for season 3. But that's just what I've heard through the youtube vine, so should be taken with a large grain of salt.
The Acolyte would've never risen to the potential that fans like you and I could see for it under the direction of Headland.
Hence why it's liked more for where it could go than what we actually got in that season.
(Heck, you can say that about a few of these shows)
Great premise that took a nose dive into a pool of #### while ignoring the lore that preceded it because the director had no time for that, by the by R2D2 is a lesbian.
Pulling the plug before further disaster was the right move.
Maybe when they soft reboot with this new trilogy, they can go back and explore that timeline under better direction.

So I took the leap on Skeleton Crew, I said I wasn't going to watch it, but I had nothing better to do, and the first two of the 8 episode season dropped today. Just some thoughts
Spoiler!
I liked it quite a bit. First of all the opening scene with the pirate attack really captivates you, its a direct salute to the boarding of the Tantive Iv right down to the one crew member looking up at the sound of the boarding. The effects were well done, and the Pirates were made to be terrifying with one pirate getting his eye blasted out of his head and shaking it off.
We then go to the world of At Attin and meet the main character Wim. If you want a dystopian grim future world At Attin is that in disguise. It looks like everyone lives in a beautiful home with a huge lawn, and everything is clean. However underneath its shiny veneer, there's something wrong and soul sucking on this world. First of all there is very little interaction between children and adults. Outside of the opening scene where we see that Wim is constantly working at his job, and in the class room where a minister talks to students about their career test that will guide their future and encourages them on the joy of contributing to the Great Work, the kids are basically baby sat by droids. The teachers a droid, the bus driver is a droid, the home servants are droids, and we see later on that there is a barrier that blocks the world from the stars. Its creepy and insidious.
But everything breaks loose when Wim finds what he thinks is a hidden Jedi Temple, and it draws Wim's best friend Neel and two of the cool girls Fern and KB into exploring it. Where they find out that its a Star Ship that rockets off carrying the kids on auto pilot past the great Barrier and into hyper space.
The plot line reminds me of the goonies, a bunch of kids on an adventure and being chased by pirates. Where I thought I would be annoyed by the Kids, and see bunch of zany kid humour, I was wrong. Wim reminds me of what a very young Luke Skywalker would be, he wants a life of adventure and dreams of being a Jedi which means getting away his creepy homeworld. Neel plays the good jittery best friend, and the girls Fern and KB play the serious girls with a bit of a bad attitude.
The other character of note is the droid SM-33 voiced by Nick Frost who has a groany Pirate Persona, but he's actually a lot of fun.
But to me, it does work, its kiddy but not you know Kiddy.
The other thing that does work is the use of practical sets in the Star Ships, which gives you a tight space with a creaky feeling. When they switch to the Disney Volume of the on planet and larger sets it does expose the one weakness to Volume, its beautiful, but it feels empty and that the walls are beyond reach.
Overall it was a strong start with the second episode picking up the pace as they visit a pirate port and tangle with the Pirates from the first scene, and we get introduced to Jude Law's character who appears to be a Jedi.
I enjoyed it, I think its worth carrying on.
The interesting thing is that this series continues with the Narrative that the New Republic is a bit of a failure as Pirates run rampant on the outer ring and with impunity, it goes back to the Mandalorian where we see slavery re-established on the outer ring and the Republic not doing anything about it.

I enjoyed it as well. The inspiration for this show obviously comes from the Goonies, which I'm fine with. I liked the characters as well, and I thought the kid actors were quite good.
And is it just me, or does Star Wars suburbia look a lot like Elliott's neighborhood from E.T.? Those were the only scenes that didn't feel like SW to me, but the rest of it was pretty solid.
