Location: A simple man leading a complicated life....
Exp:
Watched "Beyond a Reasonable Doubt', The story of a prosecutor who plants evidence to get a conviction in 17 of his cases and a news reporter who tries to prove it. What happens in between is full of surprises.
I think the Mortal Kombat movie was supposed to be a setup for more of them rather than a standalone film.
Was somewhat entertaining, but I think the 1995 one was a lot better, but maybe that's just nostalgia, maybe I need to rewatch it.
I enjoyed the movie but kept asking where Johnny Cage was? There is your setup for the next movie! I also this Christopher Lambert was the best Raiden! Also probably the only Raiden to speak a line while acting!
After watching the new one I watched the old mortal kombat movie. I had already seen it but it was still not bad. Then I watched 4 minutes of the 1997 version of it! Terrible

Just watched the new Dave Grohl documentary What Drives Us, about touring in a van. Pretty fun movie with some great road stories from people like Ringo Starr, Flea, The Edge, Brian Johnson, Annie Clark (St. Vincent), No Doubt, and Ben Harper. As well as punk-rock vets like Ian MacKaye (Fugazi, Minor Threat), Mike Watt (Minutemen), and Kira Roessler (Black Flag). Slash and Duff McKagan from Gn'R also make an appearance.
MacKaye and Duff both credit Canadian band D.O.A. for basically paving the way for the punk/indie-rock touring circuit that developed throughout the 80s and 90s.

Excellent film. Although going by what was on the previews, I was expecting it to be a bit...different . Had a good conversation with the wife after about the social issues discussed.
We also had a good talk about how it would have been interesting to see this film in a theatre full of people and observe the audience's reaction to some scenes. Likely there would be an eerie feeling of shame from some of the males in attendance.

Watched Stowaway last night. I like space movies but also have a crush on Anna Kendrick. Movie was no good. A bit predictable and it seemed very slow. Plot didn’t make a lot of sense and wasn’t explained well.

The Mitchells vs the Machines on Netflix is one of the best and funniest animated kids movies I've watched in years. Made by the same people behind the Lego movie and Into the Spiderverse, the animation is all kinds of creative and fun. Highly recommended.

Mortal Kombat was ok. I didn’t have high expectations for it. The opening was great. There is a Mortal Kombat cartoon called Scorpions Revenge that recently came out. It starts off very similarly. The cartoon is 1000% more gory though. Definitely not for kids. I enjoyed that movie more.
1. A very hot pre Wild Things Denise Richards
2. A younger, slower and less furious Paul Walker(RIP)
3. Bernie from Weekend at Bernie's playing someone who is alive
4. Animatronic dinosaurs
5. Extreme gore
6. Special effects that cost hundreds of dollars
7. Bad acting, weird scripts
8. Fights that include scrotum squeezing
If you said yes or no to any or all of the above questions this may be either the worst or the best movie you will ever see.

I read an article that said A Clockwork Orange was banned in Alberta from release until 1999. Just curious if people on here remember that, like was it just not allowed in theatres or could you not even own the VHS/DVD before 99? That seems wild to me that a film of that magnitude and importance would be banned here.
