Well to start I disagree with the Sliding over on rushes. It has been exposed many times this year. It assumes one player is going to continue rushing the puck himself over the blie line. All the forward has to do is pass the puck before he hits the blue to create a easy entry or a odd man rush against the dman who slid over. It wotks if the forward who is carrying the puck dosen't have his head on a swivel but more often than not the player will have that rush pass avalible .
Speedy teams especially take atvantage of defense who "Slide" we saw it numerous times agaianst Vegas. Hell Karlosson alone had beat the d 3 or 4 times .
This is also how McDavid has become Flames Kryptonite. The passer rushes along out side alomg the boards the D slides over . The pick carrier makes a rink width pass about 3 to 4 feet from the blue line to the rushing foreward who has room to drive wide around the d man who has slide out of postion to stop the initial puck carrier.
This is just a start of what I do not agree with.
Its a style that worked when the game was slower . Its an outdated way to play when most teams fast.
You do see it work when the Flames Play the heavier slower teams but thats it. Most teams have that speed to exploit it.
