A Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday showed President Donald Trump's approval rating back down following a bounce in mid-April.

The poll, taken May 4-9, pegged Trump's approval at 36% compared to 58% who said they disapprove of his performance as President. Nearly all interviews were done ahead of the news that Trump had fired FBI Director James Comey on Tuesday.

Among subgroups, Trump lost significant support among white respondents without college degrees. This demographic has consistently been one of the stronger groups for Trump and is a rough picture of the white working class.

Personally, I'd be interested in hearing any well-reasoned argument why Trump's behaviour so far has been effective, strategic, or successful in some way. But making snide comments using buzz words from alt-right websites is not likely to be persuasive.

18 U.S. Code § 1505 - Obstruction of proceedings before departments, agencies, and committees
Whoever, with intent to avoid, evade, prevent, or obstruct compliance, in whole or in part, with any civil investigative demand duly and properly made under the Antitrust Civil Process Act, willfully withholds, misrepresents, removes from any place, conceals, covers up, destroys, mutilates, alters, or by other means falsifies any documentary material, answers to written interrogatories, or oral testimony, which is the subject of such demand; or attempts to do so or solicits another to do so; or
Whoever corruptly, or by threats or force, or by any threatening letter or communication influences, obstructs, or impedes or endeavors to influence, obstruct, or impede the due and proper administration of the law under which any pending proceeding is being had before any department or agency of the United States, or the due and proper exercise of the power of inquiry under which any inquiry or investigation is being had by either House, or any committee of either House or any joint committee of the Congress.

18 U.S. Code § 1510 - Obstruction of criminal investigations
Whoever willfully endeavors by means of bribery to obstruct, delay, or prevent the communication of information relating to a violation of any criminal statute of the United States by any person to a criminal investigator (As used in this section, the term “criminal investigator” means any individual duly authorized by a department, agency, or armed force of the United States to conduct or engage in investigations of or prosecutions for violations of the criminal laws of the United States).


18 U.S. Code § 1513 - Retaliating against a witness, victim, or an informant
Whoever knowingly, with the intent to retaliate, takes any action harmful to any person, including interference with the lawful employment or livelihood of any person, for providing to a law enforcement officer any truthful information relating to the commission or possible commission of any Federal offense.

This is going to get interesting if anyone in DoJ has some sack.

I'm pretty sure no such argument exists. But two things can be right at once - he's clearly a lunatic, so it's actually pretty hard to take criticism of him too far into blind, vacuous cheerleading-style criticism. Yet certain posters manage it anyway.

Trump is awful, but quite often, so is this thread.
