Oops, I set the upper range wrong when I set it to last season.

"Incaracerated Bob" says Wideman is on the radar for Toronto.

Take that FWIW.

They'll probably make him the captain.

I actually thought Toronto was a legit landing spot for Wideman until they made their move for Boyle.

I thought that they would consider a "Feaster buy" deadline when he brought in Bret Carson and Freddie Modin without giving up assets. I figured the Leafs would maybe add a Wideman for cheap to show the fans they were adding without giving up futures. They grabbed Boyle so seem more legit to me that they are going for it

Eklund says Halak trade call pending could be Calgary or Boston

My prediction is Edmonton.

You know what - I wouldn't be surprised at all to see something like Brooks Laich + a 4th rounder for Dennis Wideman trade happening.

Flames save a bit of cap room, add a depth forward with lots of playoff experience, and both teams get rid of a disgruntled veteran.

I think the Flames would have to be the ones including the pick?

I was actually wondering if Laich had any game left and I see this as a great low risk move that would really help us down the stretch.

I would be interested in this.

I wouldn't mind Halak if it were to happen. He is a solid goalie and 4.5 million isn't all that bad for next season. It would give Tre the ability to go into the summer without needing to go after a goalie, but it still give him the flexibility to get a Grubauer or a Pickard and have Halak as a 1b.

If you can get Halak+ for a Johnson I'd say do it.

Laich is in the AHL, Wideman is still a serviceable d-man (always come at a premium at the deadline) who can play in the top 4 in the case of injury.

Leafs add the pick here IMO.

Pierre LeBrun @Real_ESPNLeBrun
Once Brendan Smith deal to NYR is finalized, much attention will turn to Kulikov. Sabres have gotten calls from multiple teams already.

We have a serviceable 1a/1b that are gelling right now. Throwing another goalie into that scenario just doesn't seem like a good idea to me.

This makes sending down Jokipakka more interesting.

Calm down looks like a maintenance day.

But we have no one under contract for next year. Not saying Halak is the answer or the right move, but it's not as simple as we like our guys right now (if we even do). Problem doesn't have to be solved by this deadline though, but there's a problem to solve for sure.

Halak would be a better back up than Johnson but 1 year left on his contract? Do we let Elliot walk and the run with Halak next season?

So sick of new goalies.

What does Jokkipakka on waivers mean? Just salary cap reasons?

This off season is unique though with the expansion draft and number of stud UFA goaltenders and us clearing up tons of toxic cap space. Basically I don't think they are feeling any pressure on this front, I'm certainly not.
