Believes Oilers are going to trade Mangiapane to create cap room.
Oilers are looking for forwards who are accepting of a bottom 6 minutes and be happy with it.
Not everyone is upset, but some guys like Mangiapane were recruited and brought in to play with the top guys and are not happy to play bottom 6 minutes
Also think they are looking for another d-man - 2nd pair guy or a guy who can move the puck
Friedman still doing homework on Binnington, had some people tell him to look into binngton in the aftermath of the olympics. Still trying to figure out what is going on
Prices are high for Thomas, Faulk, and Kyrou
Price for Thomas is a younger player that can do what he does or a Quinn Hughes type return
For Justin Faulk, Blues are looking for a Rasmus Andersson return
If we assume Binnington is available, it will be a high price
There are some teams that suspect Tyler Myers as a fit for Colorado.
Friedman doesn't see the fit, but was told by a couple of people.
Friedman does believe the Avs are looking for another forward.
Does wonder about Ross Colton - hasn't always been a smooth time for him in Colorado and wonders if the Avs are looking for an upgrade there.
Has wondered about Kadri. Has wondered about Trocheck
Trocheck is a big one - Colorado, Minnesota, LA all interested
His preference is to stay east but it isn't impossible for him to go west
Tough thing for Colorado and Kadri is term.
Colorado has a big Makar deal that they have to do in a year but Kadri is the type of player Colorado is looking at.
He also wonders what Colorado has left to give after paying a big price for Nelson last year besides a player like Colton.

Who would be interested in Mangiapane and his salary I wonder.
If there's no one else (highly likely) we'll take him for your 2028 unprotected 1st.
Guessing someone would take him for the EDM 2026 2nd or 3rd. But would love for them to have to use their 2027 1st since that locks in their 2026 1st for the Sharks. Then we can be full on board with them missing playoffs without fear of them winning the lottery.
