No, he didn't say that.

Essentially he said, and I am paraphrasing, that he knows some fans are upset with the return yesterday but he asks them to wait for the dust to settle because draft picks are essentially the currency of the NHL, and that they can be used for more than just drafting.

He didn't seem to be hinting that he was sharing any insider knowledge. That is, he was just speculating, but I do think it's important to listen when Leslie speaks as he obviously has a unique relationship with the team.

Has their been any interest in eat bread? My thoughts were moving him for a defencemen on a similar contract but shifting allocation in the team with so many wingers?

The quality of young player we'd get for those would be relatively low and/or the amount of time that they'd be "young" would be short (and not fit into a window of true contention). I'd rather have the outside chance that those picks turn into impact players (and additional chance that they turn into young players of the same or near quality that we'd get in trade during a later window.

And the late first probably won't be an NHLer...that is why you have to look at everything

Thinking it’s just too tough to make this Markstrom trade happen… tough for Conroy to fight with Fitz over a fair return while also having to fight with his own upper management/ownership to agree to make the move. It’s really too bad. I don’t think the market for Markstrom will be strong in the summer but you never know. Right now the market is only New Jersey but they want him badly it seems… that might change come July.
