What a tremendous get by Felix out wide in that previous game. No way Berrettini thought the ball was coming back and he made an error as a result.

Gotta give a lot of credit to Hurkacz though, he's been rock solid even with the typically disgraceful crowd. Whether it's Felix or Matteo they are going to have their hands full in the SFs.

Yeesh, that Berrettini backhand is looking pretty terrible today.

Connors reached the semis at the age of 39 at the US Open, and competed until he was 41.

Wow - I'm speechless - what an awful match. To get bageled at Wimbledon no less

Darn, Felix had a break point chance in that game, but Berrettini with the gutsy drop shot and holds serve two points later. They just announced that Matteo is 19-0 in grand slams when he wins the first two sets, ergo FAA needs to find a way to take set 2.

Never had happened before for Fed (being bageled in a set at Wimbledon).

Connors was the ultimate competitor though. I just can't see Roger grinding on to be an also-ran. Hopefully gives it a go at the Olympics and retires after.

Well, Felix might not win today, but that's a huge hold from love-40 down.

He already committed to Halle next year. No way he retires this year, he will be back. He's still a very competitive player on tour

I mean, Wimbledon would have been roasted if they don't put Novak and Roger on Centre Court today, but the fans on court 1 are seeing much better matches.

losing badly due to age, injury, and a white hot opponent, sure. but also the guy has barely played any tennis at all in the past 1.5 years so even a slam QF is probably about as much as you could ask for.
Fed won't end things without his family being there. he'll do one more tour with wife and kids in tow and full post-covid stadiums without bubbles. I'll try to watch him in person one last time in 2022, as the torch passes to our young maple syrup drenched heroes.

A second serve at 119 MPH followed by a bomb out wide at 129 MPH. That's quite an emphatic way to erase two break points.
