Most people I talk to from Quebec couldn’t care less about blocking oil and gas exports, especially if it’s going west.

I think our provincial governments(not just the current terrible one)have done a poor job of demonstrating the benefits to the general public of Quebec (insert language barrier joke).

Opting to constantly vilify their province as freeloaders for benefiting from equalization while simultaneously fighting to take away the benefits they receive instead of offering guarantees for how much more they could benefit as a province from being better partners never seemed like a winning strategy.

Speaking of Quebec.

Quebec’s anti-corruption squad (UPAC) has announced that it will open a criminal investigation into the Quebec Liberal Party.

“We confirm that our validations are complete and that we are officially opening an investigation,” it wrote in an email to CTV News.

“We will not be issuing any further comments in order to protect our actions as much as possible and to respect the rights of those involved. A criminal investigation must remain confidential, and we wish to let our investigators do their work.”

Quebec Liberal Party leader Pablo Rodriguez acknowledged that the investigation was underway and said it was important to get to the bottom of what happened.

“I am the first to want that. The Quebec Liberal Party and all its authorities will cooperate fully,” Rodriguez said.

“If someone has committed an illegal act, the truth must come out, and as leader, I will act without hesitation.”
Interesting that Pablo Rodriguez former Liberal MP who bailed on the Trudeau Liberals in a scorched earth method (while still staying on board as independent ), is remarkably deeply embroiled in what is now a criminal case involving corruption within the Quebec Liberal party.

You would think considering all the chatter and concerns on past transgressions in other provinces involving other political parties and how leaders got in power that was talked about for years onward, that there would be similar discussions with a breaking news story on what appears to be more egregious, but I digress.
