I hope we can get a similar deal to the Avs/Pens deal with Hanley or Pachal. Not sure there are many more out there, maybe Dallas with Lyubushkin + 1st + 2nd (or Hemming) for Coleman + Pachal. Flip Lyubushkin next season.

let's hope for an insanity breakout over the weekend with NHL GMs - but I"m not banking on it. Same old story - "you won't believe the names I'm hearing out there", followed by crickets...
updated ranking (parroting the Eklund scale)
F0 - low
F1 - medium low
F2 - medium
F3 - medium high
F4 - high
F5 - extremely high (hit refresh)
F-off - we aren't getting Tij!

That's all I could think about too.
They do seem reasonable. Coleman I'd be shocked if he stayed. Kadri surprised. Weegar; super surprised. Whitecloud; kind of pissed actually

Helping set the stage for a disappointing deadline? Lots of hope that Coleman, Kadri and one of the two big name defensemen get moved for a BIG package (multiple 1sts), but Francis basically leaning into Coleman and Pachal most likely to be moved, meaning a small return. Might get a late 1st out of Coleman and a later pick out of Pachal. Hope he's wrong.

All I can get

I'd expect Dallas to leverage Coleman's motivation to play in his hometown (and thereby waiving any trade clause). I'd temper expectations of a big return. Perhaps a second and maybe a B prospect.

He has a 10 team approved trade list.
Unless he structured that list in a way that it's 9 bottom feeders + Dallas, the Flames should have plenty of flexibility given every team in a playoff spot wants to add a Blake Coleman.

It really feels like the Flames are playing with house money at this point. I'll take the trades that come, but most of these trades reek of next year.

Ya that 10 team trade list does not seem like an issue at all. Every team that would want him are contenders, predominantly from south/middle states. Pretty much exactly where he would want to go.

Kadri should not be medium. Dreger has said over and over it is very likely he gets traded.

Some people will be disappointed no matter what.
Hope they get a (deserved) good return for Coleman. The rest would be gravy.

Coleman: Free, UFA
Kadri: Free*, UFA
Whitecloud: Trade
Lomberg: Free, UFA
Pachal: Free, Waiver pickup
Hanley: Free, Waiver pickup
Weegar: Trade
Regardless of what the Flames get in return and who is moved, 5 of these 7 potential targets were/are free assets. Turning free agent signings and waiver pickups into futures is impressive asset management. I'm not losing sleep if Coleman is the only one to get traded. But it could be a very fun deadline to look back on in terms of acquisition cost vs returns if a couple more of these guys move.
*Kadri cost a 1st round pick for Monahan to make room to sign, so arguably not free

Labelling Kadri a Medium could be an internal leak to tell teams to up their offers or he won't be moving since the recent speculation is he asked for a trade and maybe put the ball in the buyers court.

Kadri might be a summer trade is the only thing that would hold it back from high IMO. Say they retain on Coleman, they are out of spots...until the season ends.

Everything Craig and team leak to the media has a purpose. Roddy wasn’t promoted for vibes.

If it’s not fact, it’s opinion or conjecture.
My conjecture nee requirement is that any UFA be traded. There is zero point to walking contracts to the end of the season.
So Lomberg has to be a certainty.
Like the player and want them back? Have a conversation about that prior to the trade. The player might be ecstatic about playing for a different team for a couple of months.
Realistically though, if an extension hasn’t been signed it’s because the player or team wants to see the market in the summer.
So trade them for whatever you can get.

I mean... if you wanted to control your destiny that is exactly how you would structure the list, except Dallas would also be blocked out so that you could only be traded with your agreement.
Going almost purely by last year's standings and not even looking at organizational depth, a 10 list team could be: Sharks, Blackhawks, Preds, Flyers, Kraken, Ducks, Pens, Islanders, Rangers, Blue Jackets.
If you made that your "yes" list and all other teams require approval, that does not leave a lot room for Conroy to trade you without your consent. And I would expect that Coleman's agent would need to fine tune the list a bit by doing a deeper analysis as to which teams have a need for Coleman and/or the assets to trade for him.
It is odd that some posters think that in a multi-million dollar industry the players are demanding these trade clauses but then not putting in the effort to maximize their control within the clause.
Anyway, it is a good thing it sounds like Coleman wants to go and is ready to accept a trade. Hopefully with multiple teams meeting Conroy's price it is a quick conversation to get Coleman's blessing and pull the trigger on one of them.
