During last night’s game Monster Truck & LouieDBlouie started to push the story they’ve been given from management that Campbell is hurt and would only go in for emergency. To expect they call up Pickard when Skinner needs a night off. The truth is they don’t have an ounce of faith in Campbell.
What are the odds the Oilers buy out Campbell after this season with 4 years and $20 million remaining on his contract?

apropos of last night's game, let me be the last to say that I think New Jersey is for real this year.
I've said it before but of all the re-builds NJ's is the most impressive. They are getting good already and have more on the way. Luke Hughes might end up being their best dman, and then they have Simon Nemec coming too.
They have everything, except perhaps a true #1 tender. But that's solvable.
Amazing D corp that will only get better
1-2 centre punch of Hughes/Hischier
Skill and talent on the wings.
They are going to be good for a while.

Skinner seems like the #1 to me.... I can't recall the last time I've seen Campbell play. (Carolina 7-2 loss maybe - 5 games ago). He's not injured.
I am pretty sure that Campbell could be, in fact, injured. He played a few mins last night and took a stick in the eye and had to leave the game. There hasn't been an update yet today about his status for tomorrow.

I'm not sure that's right... he was sitting on the bench and late in the second period he took a puck in the eye and left the bench. I don't recall who was trying to dump it in but it hit Hamilton's stick and deflected directly into Soupy's face.
He was never on the ice though I don't think... I was flicking back and forth between the Flames game and the Oilers losing though so I definitely didn't see the entire game (or even most).

It's difficult for me to put into words how insane and dumb this narrative of the Oilers not getting calls is, so I'll have Number 1 do it:
I was reading on HF Boards in the last Oilers postgame thread about "game management." Those idiots seem to think that this refers to instances when the trailing team in the third period is unfairly penalised with penalty calls.
Because reasons?

Well, Oilers fans don't seem to understand anything else about hockey, why should game management be any different.
