That US Open was my first live experience, I was there when Agassi played his last match against Benjamin Becker. He was taking injections into his back for the pain between each match. I also remember Baghdatis cramping like crazy during his match but soldiering on anyways.

Those sure we're the good old days. Roger was at his absolute peak, Rafa was a muscle-bound teenager in pirate clothes, TV was mostly not HD still, and people were reading tennis news in newspapers on the subway. Based on how things have gone since, I fully expect to be watching Fedal highlights on my holoprojector in the year 2032.

Djoker leaves the court before the start of the 3rd set and must have found one of those old-fashioned British phone booths because he's transformed from Clark Kent into Superman ever since that point.

Meanwhile on court 2, Medvedev and former world #7 Goffin are deep in the 5th set.

Edit: The greatest Belgian tennis player of all time is into week 2 taking out Medvedev.

Felix is too jacked up at the moment, the forehand is spraying shots long and wide.

Mostly long. And there's no reason for it. It's like he's treating this like practice, or thinks he needs to win the point every time he hits the ball. It's maddening. He's probably going to win most long rallies, just take them.

Captain Obvious says a break for Felix early in this second set would be huge. And there it is.

Broken serving for the set, ugly.

Rats, Humbert breaks back to get back on serve in set 2.

Well that match slipped away pretty quick. Awful. No shot of beating Novak anyway, but at least get there.

It's getting a little scrappy out there for Felix at the moment. Humbert is making some great shots though.

Really a total collapse, at 5-2 he needed four more points to win the set, and he won four points in the last five games. But good in some ways, the hype train will be tempered by this.

Ugh, a sitter at the net to win that game and instead a break of serve. Yeesh.

Just not his best today, it happens. Just disappointing because it's such a winnable match.

At least he broke that run of games by Ugo - Humbert looks a little nervous, if Felix can break back quickly here, all might not be lost quite yet.
