The Saints are the same as they've always been. Just two different teams in the Dome and away from it. I mean they've lost to the freaking Jets and Geno this year. They probably beat the Jets by 7 TDs at home but lose to them on the road. And with homefield gone the Saints now have to worry about Carolina passing them and forcing them start on the road (though against the "winner" of the NFC East).

I know they're all pretty bad, but remember when the Saints missed out on the top seed and had to play a road game against the "winner" of the NFC West?

quite dislike the Seahags but they are rolling right now and look unbeatable at home and i cant see them losing the #1 seed..... they have looked pretty average on the road at times.... but the only road game they will likely play is if they are in the SB.

Went to the seahawks game lastnight, unreal performance by Wilson. The crowd reclaimed the loudest stadium in the world title. It was awesome, Seahawks look unbeatable at home right now.

Mariota has officially announced he's staying in school. Now that #1 overall race gets really interesting. I also think I just heard thousands of Vikings and Browns fans punch a wall.

Mistake for Mariota. Nothing to be gained returning, only Marcus Lattimore/Aaron Murray potential out there. Jameis like Teddy is locked in at #1 QB so he's basically in the same position but with an injury risk out there.

Agree with you 100%, barring Jameis Winston going to jail, Mariota will be in no better position next year.
With that said, who the hell knows what QB Jacksonville, Cleveland and Minnesota will end up taking now. The Vikings fan in me currently has no preference because I don't know much about Derek Carr, who is apparently flying up draft boards. To top it off, have to see how many other QB's follow in Mariota's footsteps and stay in school.

I'm obviously a bit biased being an Oregon fan, but I'm not sure it's a bad decision at all. Yes there's the possibility of him getting hurt next season, but if he did declare he would become the youngest starting qb ever by about 9 months. In a league where you can go from the penthouse to the outhouse very quickly, it may not be a bad idea for him to mature a bit more before making the jump.

If things stay the way they are hard to see Houston not picking Bridgewater.
I think the only way Clowney goes first is if everyone else passes Atlanta.
I would imagine that Jacksonville, TB, St. Louis (may trade pick if they like Bradford), Minnesota all go with Bridgewater if they get the first.

I don't think there's any scenario where Clowney goes #1 overall, even if Atlanta ends up with the first overall pick. Any team at the top would likely attempt to work a trade with so many teams desperate for that franchise QB.

Agreed, the way the class is shaping up, the top pick will have really good trade value and if it's a team like Atlanta they would be crazy to keep it and draft Clowney. Too many teams like Houston, Jacksonville, Minnesota, Cleveland, even Oakland who need a franchise QB.

I think the belief teams will give up the RGIII level package to move up is dying. Mostly because of RGIII. The Redskins could theoritically trade RGIII for Teddy Bridgewater, Michael Brockers and Alec Ogletree. That easily becomes one of the 2 or 3 worst trades ever if the Redskins flame out the rest of the year and end up at #1, especially since the Redskins could have had all that drafting Kirk Cousins in the 4th round, which they did anyways. Teams will be very weary of giving up the farm to move up.
And if you're Atlanta and you desperately need impact defensive players, is the risk of trading back and getting jumped again or having someone else take Clowney or Anthony Barr worth an extra first round pick? I'd rather have the guy I want than picks, particularly for a team that could easily be back in Super Bowl contention next year with some upgrades.

I think the Saints rep away from the Dome is a little unfair, seeing as since '09 they reportedly hold the league's best road record. But in cold/wet weather conditions against the league's elite, I agree. Sooner or later they've gotta pull one of those games out if they want to shed that rep. You just can't rely on home field advantage to get you in every year, Super Bowl calibre teams need to be able to win on the road in those conditions. What a beatdown that was, can't even remember the last time they got whupped like that. Seattle was very impressive, not looking forward to a playoff rematch there, if it happens.
The 2 Carolina games are huge, though a split should be enough to solidify the bye for the Saints, as they currently hold the tie-breaker over the Panthers for what should be the #2 seed. Can't wait to watch us play a mobile QB yet again, that's always so much fun...

I think the Saints will expose Carolina's very mediocre back end. The Panthers front 7 has been pretty much elite, which has done a good job of covering the holes they have in the secondary. So long as the Saints O-line gives Brees time I think they should beat the Panthers at least once and probably both times.

Isn't this what was said leading up to the Seattle game with the suspensions?

Not really, Seattle has the best secondary in the league, and has great linebackers and a good pass rush, all with that nearly unbeatable home field. I don't know anyone outside Saints fans who picked them to win last week. Carolina has pretty much a 0% in the Dome, and the game at Carolina will be a toss up. It'll be interesting to see how Carolina fares down 2TDs or more early in a game, something they haven't been all season I believe.
