I noticed earlier today that Macleod Trail @ 162nd Ave SW is now free flowing, they got rid of the lights for northbound traffic (and south too I assume). Rush hour will hopefully be much smoother for cars going to/from 22x (soon to be Stoney Trail)
The first bridge opened yesterday, I believe. But traffic flow will remain inconsistent there for another year as they still have to build the second bridge over MacLeod. It should make traffic on MacLeod much better though.
This makes a huge difference for me as I have had to suffer through that light for years now. A little bit of snow and NB McLeod Trail gets backed up past 22x.
It's a bit of a pain for people who live in Sundance as there won't be any access from SB McLeod Trail into the community for two weeks.

I'd just like to remind everyone that this project is a key cog in Nenshi's "war on the car".
Glenmore/Ogden Interchange as well as the Trans-Canada/Bowfort Road project are also there to make everyone's lives less convenient and force you onto a bike.
It is permanent, 5:30-9 am every weekday. If this had really been planned well though they would have made it possible to access Lake Fraser off Anderson EB, and then you can eliminate the light at SB MacLeod/Lake Fraser and just have it as an on/off for NB MacLeod.

As someone that drives twice a week out to Strathmore that Ogden-Glenmore interchange can not be completed soon enough. God damn train every single day.

It's only to 8:30am as well. It really should go to 9:30-10am IMO. Or really they should just blockade the turn entirely, but that will never happen because of what you mention in your post.
There is a snowballs chance in hell that they make the limit 100 on Macleod. I think 80 might be the number. And that said, the speed at which people will actually drive on it is an entirely different matter.
