More from Israel.
The old city, Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives.
The old city market.
Prayer at the Holy Church of the Sepulcher on new years day.
Parking in Tel Aviv. Pretty much anything goes as long as you don't block traffic and obey the signs/painted parking stripes.
Mother and daughter back home at the Moshav.

I've made my first portfolio and I'd love to have some feedback from the many talented people who browse this thread.

Anybody who has a RX100, if you happen to be using an external charger where did you find one?
The only one in the city is The Camera Store for a whopping $74 whereas there are the eBay for $15 including shipping or Amazon for almost $30 though the latter both include 3rd party batteries.
Edit: Scratch that, manage to find some Wasabi ones with a charger/batteries.

Great shots, is it just me or is Calgary's downtown skyline bigger and nicer than most American cities that are bigger than us in population?

It's not just you.
IMHO
Calgary beats:
Baltimore
Cincinnati
Colombus
Denver
Detroit
Indianapolis
Jacksonville
Kansas City
Las Vegas
Louisville
Memphis
Milwaukee
Nashville
Oklahoma City
Phoenix
Portland
Providence
Sacramento
San Antonio
San Diego
St. Louis
Tampa Bay
Washington
Comparables:
Boston
Charlotte
Cleveland
Miami
Minneapolis
Pittsburgh
Better than Calgary:
Chicago
Dallas
Houston
Los Angeles
New York City
Philadelphia
San Francisco
Seattle
We're smaller (metro pulation) than all of these cities, and no American city too small to make the list is comparable or better. On the list of comparables, many of those have one or two top buildings that are taller than Calgary's, but the height drops off faster.
Throw in the Canadian cities, and we're ahead of Montreal, Vancouver, and Ottawa too, only behind Toronto.
Worldwide, there's only a few cities that beat us that aren't above our population class. Abu Dhabi and Doha come to mind. Panama City and Wuxi have taller skylines with only slightly higher populations.

Just bought a used Nikon D300 c/w a Nikkor 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5 lens and a battery grip (chinese knock-off). I'm upgrading from my Nikon 3100.
My next purchase will be David Busch's "Nikon D300 Guide to Digital SLR Photography". Boy, the manual that Nikon supplies sure is tough to read and understand.
Looking forward to getting out and playing around with the new camera. Fooled around with it indoors, today. Learning what a lot of the buttons do. Tried different settings and so forth.
Here's one of my practice shots. Nothing spectacular but I'm happy.

We're taking this off-topic just a little too much for my liking, but if we had added a 270+ meter tower to those two, or upgraded one of them to that height, that would put us clearly above all of the "comparables" except maybe Miami (perhaps depending on what they get built).
But I guess with the current permit system, the days of "surprise, it's gonna be taller than we said!" have ended.

Well, I did start a city skylines thread.
EDIT: Although, I called it American, but any skyline discussion is cool. Always found them very interesting.

Karim Nafatni is another pilot-photographer, but his planes are a bit bigger. His portfolio is a bit different (mostly of his home city of Dubai or the cockpit), but might be worth checking out for you.
