At $90k for xeroscaping, I'm also just going to pave.

But with some of that new permeable concrete to help with run off concerns.

I have tried for a couple of years to get some clover to survive. I just can’t get any to last. I have never had healthy grass there either, which is why I was hoping for clover. My lawn is south facing and quite sloped. I have regularly added soil and seed, fertilizer, aerated, etc. I give up. If that offends anyone’s eyes, then so be it. Our climate is arid and getting worse - I can’t justify the time or the water anymore.

My sheep fescue still looks pretty good. Seems to hold up a lot better in the dry. And I rarely mow it. Wish I didn't have to tear up my lawn first to get it established.

Totally absurd to the point where I was actually annoyed the dude wasted so much of my time screwing around with things and several meetings just to hit me with that insane quote. Dude was importing rocks from the States and stuff. Like, Burnco is down the street, man. What are you doing? That didn't even include spotlights, irrigation, or anything else that could have maybe justified that price.

I was also annoyed because on meeting one I asked for a ballpark. Like, nobody has a frame of reference for guessing xeroscape prices, so just tell me if we're at $10, $20, $30, $40, $50, whatever. Surely he could have done that. Nope, he wanted it to be a surprise. Red flag...should have walked. Oh well.

Anyway, found a guy on Kijiji with really good reviews and I'm rolling the dice on him. His portfolio seems good, reviews are good and his communication skills and plan have my mind at ease. He's coming in at under $25k, but a large part of that is a retaining wall situation I need because my house is on a hill. Without the wall the price would be much better, I'm sure.

Should be done by mid-July...if I remember I'll shoot you pics and let you know how it went when done. Feel free to PM me if I forget.
PM me for details grinds my gears. I want to know as well. Its the entire premise of a message board. Wrong thread. PM me to get it deleted.

Normally I would agree, but I'm not posting pics of my house on the Internet. Too many psychos out there. I've met Slava IRL and have his email address. If you're interested I'll send 'em to you, too, but I'm not posting hah.

Radar is showing some storms bubbling up. While lightning is the last thing we need, hopefully they dump some much needed rain on Southern Alberta.

https://lkbonavista.ca/membership-an...%20Association.

There are 3,261 homes in Lake Bonavista. Only so many with a retaining wall, xeroscape (soon) and sexy garage parties. It wouldn't be hard for a psycho to find you, but certainly you don't want to make it easy for a psycho to find you.

I’m definitely finding Sliver’s house on Google maps after he puts the retaining wall in.

Replace the pictures of your house with pictures of a random house off the internet superimposed over it.

Poor Silver's front step. Soon to be speckled with flaming bags of dog poop from CP's dog lovers.

Don't forget the Rascal Charging station as well.

When he met my dog I did have to be careful that I wasn't about to witness his extermination!

Seriously though, seems like a great guy and he/his business did some excellent work for me. I wouldn't breach his confidentiality in saying what that is, but I'd give him at 4/4.5 stars for sure!

(that last line is a joke...it'd be 5 stars, but I loved that thread where he was desperately trying to explain why no one should give anything less than 5 stars. It's a position I agree with, btw)

Haha, I'm softening on dogs, anyway. One of my employees (the third I've allowed to do this) brings his dog in every day and I love that fricken thing. He's Mr. Perfect in my eyes. On days he doesn't come in it's a total downer. The other two dogs that used to come in I just sort of ignored/tolerated, but this guy rules.

That's me. Come over and say hi...we can smoke a bowl and smack some balls around.

(j/k, not me, but man that'd be funny if you rolled up and confused the hell out of some guy with CP references)

We do know where he is living soon as he is buying the inner City Infill monstrosity plopped into Bonavista that looks completely misplaced for the area.
