Overheard at Aston Martin:
Exec: “What do you think would help us sell more vehicles?”
VP, Strategy: “An SUV to compete with the Bentayga, Cayenne, Cullinan, and Urus?”
Exec: “Let’s do it.”
-later-
Exec: “Well, not bad, but DBX sales could be much better. How can we improve this?”
-guy outside banging on the window- ”It costs $260,000 you wankers, it’s too expensive!”
VP, Strategy: “How about putting 700 horsepower in one?”
Exec: “Brilliant!”

The tragedy of these otherwise beautiful machines. They’re SUVs and they’re fuxking ugly. The only reason the Porsche SUVs aren’t hideous is because the cars are already bulbous and boring enough. Aston Martin used to make the prettiest, sleekest cars around, with a silhouette that was unmistakable.

Is South Trail Exports legit? Or should I sell my truck only via private sale on Kijiji/Auto trader.

Went there in the summer for an appraisal. Ended up selling locally for approx 30% more than what South Trail offered.
If you need to get rid of it with no effort, South Trail works. If you want to spend even a little bit of effort, you will get more money going the alternate route.

Depends on your vehicle. It has to be desirable, eligible to be exported and Made in Canada or USA to get top value. Vehicles with open or no- fix recalls cannot be exported, vehicles without TPM's cannot be exported, vehicles with altered emissions ("deleted diesels") cannot be exported. Vehicles too new or not enough km (must be 6 months old and over 15,000 km) cannot be exported. Vehicles made in Mexico (many GM trucks) are subject to an import tariff so they lose value, VIN starting with a "1" or a "2" is what you are looking for. Ram trucks do not have a north American warranty, so until they have higher miles, they lose value by going south. The current state of the Canadian dollar is a big factor as well.
Vehicles that historically "export well" F-150 trucks, full size SUV's and Jeep Wranglers. And right now, Ford Broncos are pulling absurd money.

The only one of the new generation that really does anything for me is the DBS, and even then I prefer the previous generation DBS and later Vanquish to it, despite them having between 135 - 200 fewer horses than the new one. Driving the new Vantage and DB11 was nice, but the Vantage looked unfinished until they came out with the new vaned grille.

Hi team, looking to have some work done on my Audi away from the dealership. Before I dive into some research, just wondering if there's a really good and trusted place in Calgary that someone on CP would recommend that specializes in Audis?

I like Tony's ( https://www.tonysautoservice.ca/) They looked after our VW many times and provide great service and are very knowledgeable.

Is Tony's still there? I don't usually venture that way when I go to Flames games, but it seems every time I do there are fewer and fewer buildings left standing in that part of Victoria Park.

Haven't had our GTI for a few years but we always went to Concept 1 and never had any issues.

Tony's is currently the shop that I get to do work on my Audi. I have previously used Tunedub but they're a bit more backed up in terms of appointments usually, and I find the Tony's guys are a bit better with communication about what needs doing and what can wait so you can make an informed decision about maintenance items.

My brother has nothing but good to say about Tunedub but as said above they are backed up and he was looking at 4 weeks to get in a few months back.

I've had good luck with Astra Automotive near Chinook, honest and reliable.

Calgary Autoworks for me. For my first couple VW's it was George working on them, and then a few years in, he passed me on, so I moved on. Chris & Colin, at CAW are exceptional.

Why don't those stupid limey's, go back to their roots, and be creative.
An estate, or a shooting brake a la the epic DB6 Estate.

I saw a Roll Royce SUV the other day, not sure I've ever seen one here. It looked all right but a bit monstrous.
Apparently it has a 6.7L V-12 in it, wow, that's a lot of power. Big price tag too.

I saw a Lambo SUV (more of a crossover) here a while back. MSRP $257k CAD. I mind it less than the other abominations since Lamborghini started with tractors before supercars.

When even Rolls and Bentley are doing it, you join in. And apparently it has been quite the success for the marque.
I would get a Rapide, myself.
