Justin Herbert announces that he'll return to Oregon for his senior year.
not a good draft class if you're a QB needy team.

Could be a heavy tanking year next year with three top QBs in Murray, Tua and now Herbert.

In my opinion the only purpose for such an announcement of that is the Ravens telling everyone that if you want Harbaugh this offseason you'll have to pay, we aren't dropping him in your lap next Monday.

Right I forgot about the whole baseball thing. I think he's contractually obligated to the A's now, and he'd be stupid to pass on baseball money and no CTE.

Timely article on ESPN actually

		| Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray said he's trying not to think of the possibility that Saturday's matchup against Alabama could be the last competitive football game of his career.
The Heisman Trophy winner signed a $4.66 million contract to play baseball with the Oakland A's this summer, but he hasn't nixed the possibility of playing in the NFL.

"It's never bad to have options," Murray said Thursday, "but right now my main focus is this game."

"Obviously it wasn't in the air, but I've always felt I could play in the NFL," he said. "I'm a confident guy. There's not a lot of short quarterbacks in the league, but I think there's more guys paving the way for the transition of not really caring about how big you are, how tall you are. I've played this game my whole life and I've always felt I could do it."

A month ago Damien Williams was an afterthought possibly on his way out of the NFL. Today he gets a two year extension which could pay him a tad over 4 million dollars. Money that was likely earmarked for Kareem Hunt. Smart move by Williams to cash in what he can. He's made good out of this opportunity.

Well, I guess we'll see how stupid he is.

I'll be shocked if he doesn't enter the draft and I'll be shocked if he isn't taken fairly high.

Think so? He may not be a first round pick. Scouts are scared that hes only 5'10".

At this time last year scouts didn't think Baker Mayfield was going to be a first round pick.

With guys like Wilson, Brees, Watson, and Mayfield all showing they can be elite QB's, someone would be willing to take a chance.

Wilson and Brees ok. Wilson is the one successful guy out of about 20 short guys chosen in the last 10 years.

Watson is 6'2" (1.85m) and Mayfield is over 6 feet (1.82m)

Murray is cheating to get to 1.80m.

His skill set isn't marginal though. He's got a huge arm, throws the ball accurately and would probably be the fastest player to play the position in NFL history. Someone will fall in love with his skill set especially given his character and leadership.

Every NFL team wishes they had spent a 2nd round pick on Russell Wilson today.

I think teams will be willing to look at the good qualities and discount one measurable they don't like. Deshawn Watsons weak arm seems to be hurting him right about now.....

But I can't see a QB being a multi-sport guy. Even in genral I think sports are more specialized round the clock to allow for someone to play more than one at the highest level.

Any other position you pursue Baseball. Longer career, probably more money if you make it. But NFL QB there is huge upside if that works out.

Will be interesting to see what happens.

@mortreport:Marcua Mariota not expected to play tonight for Titans vs. Colts in AFC South game in which winner advances to playoffs. Mariota's "stinger" puts him at risk for further damage, per sources. Blaine Gabbert expected to start. More to come on @ESPN and Sunday NFL Countdown.

Titans should do the right thing for America and go ahead and forfeit. Forcing us to suffer through Blaine Gabbert on Sunday Night Football? Titans forfeit, replay Chiefs-Rams, everyone wins.

sucks for the Titans, but I'm sure I'm not alone in saying that I much prefer to see the Colts in the playoffs.
