They do have a great benefit in that the location is at a c-train hub so it would be attractive to people near the new line (in 4 or 5 years or whenever that will open.)
If there's one thing the demographic of private clubs appreciates, it's accessibility to public transit.

Very nice. That's a true KMPB project right there, you can spot them a mile away. It's significantly tailored down than the original Bing Thom concept, that's for sure.
This looks pretty solid to me. I hope the wood doesn't turn grey though.
Agreed, the treatment of the wood will be key. I'm absolutely stoked by the choice of wood though; it's rapidly growing in popularity as a building material of choice for many reasons right now. We are using it in all our new builds, interior and exterior. BC uses a tremendous ton of it in their designs (it's part of their building code), and it's gaining major popularity here in Alberta as a structural preference. Huge fan over here.
That looks great... I don't have many nice things to say about the current Olympic Plaza.
Despite them showing it in the video, apparently the design work of the Olympic Plaza and the renovation of the existing building is still underway. What you see in that video is more or less a placeholder.
But either way, Olympic Plaza definitely needs a redo.
