Brodie's back on Wednesday. He got a 1-game suspension (that he's already served).

Patterson, Grantham, Cunning and Pelech are all skating, but aren't on the road trip.
John Negrin expects to be back in the New Year.

Getting Pelech and Grantham back will make a big difference in our toughness and keep the goons off Wahl etc.

Getting Cunning and Patterson back on the top line will help us in the scoring department.

Can't wait to get Pelech back.

The Heat are gonna be really, really good once these guys get healthy. For a team to be doing THIS well missing that many key players is astounding. Kudos to Playfair and his crew.

Was there any disciplinary action taken towards Vopati?

Nothing. It was a clean hit.

I think Mitch Wahl not cutting through the centre of the ice will keep the goons off Mitch Wahl. That hit was 100% clean.

Nyren has been playing almost exclusively as a forward.

Is that good or bad for him?

I know he's been scary in his own end at times with the Hitmen (and did wonder why he wasn't a forward from time to time).

Probably for that reason. And the fact that better Dmen were available and Playfair wanted him playing.

There's also the issue of injuries and whether Nyren would be better than the random ECHL fill-in guys the Heat would bring in to cover.

Yeah, I noticed that when they were in Peoria a couple weeks ago. He played on the 4th line and then QB'd the powerplay. He looked fine as a forward, but seemed like he was fighting the puck when bringing it up on the powerplay.

I have a question: Since Pardy is just about ready to come back, is it possible to send him down to Abbotsford on a few game conditioning stint without sending him through waivers?

Yes. He can go down for two weeks, I believe, without requiring waivers.

Would he count against the Flames cap or would his money still be under LTIR?

not sure about the cap-I imagine he would count against the cap

I am fairly sure he would count against the 23 man roster limit even if on conditioning and that will become an issue soon too I think??
