Just as likely to hear the "we ran into a hot goaltender" whining if the first period is any indication.

Canada has been the better team for most of the frame but it doesn't mean much if the other goaltender is outplaying yours considerably.

Never thought I would utter this line but... Lou should be in net.

Canada absolutely dominating. Goaltenders are the difference at this point.

18-6 shots on goal for Canada and they're just not going in!

I don't know what damn game the refs are watching. The US should have had 4-5 penalties.

Good period by USA..... yes Canada is a better than us , but give the young USA team some credit. They are playing well and I hope they keep it up!

Canada outplayed them, just were a bit mindless on a couple shifts, and the Americans got better bounces. As long as they can keep playing like that for the next two periods they should be in a good position to win.

Loving the way Iginla Toews and Morrow are playing. They have been the only line that has been consistently playing in USAs end. Hopefully they dont get benched now.

Shots 19-6 in favor of Canada. We keep playing like this and there's no way Miller can hold the fort.

Noticed that as well.

Get was also out with Heatly I believe. More line mixups on the way it appears.

There was another Olympic game between these two teams where Rafalski scored and the Americans had a 2-1 lead. As I recall, Jarome Iginla scored 2 goals and an assist to beat the Americans 5-2. It was back in 2002 I think.

Wow we dominated that period. We play like that and we will win the game. An unlucky deflection by Crosby into his own net on the first goal. Outshot them 18-6 and vastly outplayed them especially in the 2nd half of the period. Miller made 2 or 3 big saves (the one on Marleau was huge). Shea Weber is a real solid dman.

That's what we keep telling ourselves with the Flames.

Didn't he have 2 assists?

I agree, we all knew coming in Canada would outshoot USA by a 2-1 or 3-1 margin and lucky bounces and capitalizing on the few chances given would be important for a USA win. So far so good.

Miller has been on fire, gonna have to remain that way if Canada keeps up the pressure like that but right now this game could easily go either way.
