Mine is, the best Grey Cup game that I never seen. I did not watch the game because I was so bitter that the Stamps was not in there. I guess I missed out on a good game.
Another black eye on Rider fans. Montreal P/K Damon Duval claimed that the Riders fan doused his wife and kids with beers during the game. The wife and the kids left and ended up watching the game on their hotel. So basically they missed out on the celebrations. Not sure if this idiot did it on purpose or it was an accident.
On another note, unnamed television network reportedly reveal the guilty 13th man on that too-many men penalty. They revealed it was Sean Lucas that wasn't supposed to be in the field. I still don't understand why do the Riders put a man at the end zone when they are ahead by 2 points. Duval missed and they give up a point. I still think Armstead is the culprit. But it is over now and nothing they can do.

If they do not have a returner in the endzone, Duval is onside and could recover the football for a TD.

I have no idea the details of what really happened. I won't assume that the Riders fans did this on purpose.
BUT, I have been to a few games when the Riders come into town and play the Stamps. I think the Riders fans have taken things too far over the last couple years. At least they are hitting the edge of it just not being fun anymore.
I don't mean to say all Riders fans have taken it too far. But the last couple of games I start to hope that the game is a blow out either way because I get nervous about what kind of things are going to start in the stands.
That is my take. Does anybody else have that same impression?

Agreed! Maybe it's because I'm not old enough to know what Rider's fan were like 20 years ago but I'm also getting the impression that a lot of them are there because it's the "in" thing. I'm not trying to take away from the quality fans because I don't doubt that there are a lot of very knowledgeable and very passionate Rider's fans. There's just a lot of stupid ones too! Maybe it's just the fact that I still have a sour taste in my mouth after watching the 44-44 tie from the endzone where the group in front of us spent the entire OT with their backs to the play cheering and taunting us...
The old saying that it only takes one bad apple definitely applies...just in this case it's about 20,000 bad apples ruining it for the rest of them...

I'd have to disagree, the best was 1998 when Mark McLoughlin kicked the game winning field goal.
This one was exciting though thats for sure.

I definitely see a change in Riders fans over the last few years just as I did in Flames fans after 2004, must be the mentality of the new generation of sports fans. Get as drunk as possible and treat sports events like your personal party!

I hope the spelling mistakes are intentional since it was supposed to be written by someone in the Riders' front office.

Hasn't it been established that they couldn't have called a time out?

Yes, but like the poster before you pointed out all the mistakes in the ad can simply be attributed to the fact that people from Saskatchewan are stupid so the mistakes are to be expected.

I'm not trying to tempt anyone, I've just shifted my focus on CP. Instead of constantly defending the Riders I've tried to be their biggest hater. It's just easier when we get it out of the way early because then we can move on, so I've been making an effort to get the obligatory "well, because their fans are a bunch of drunken rapists" posts out of the way so it doesn't bog down the threads.
Although, pretty much none of the coaching staff is Canadian so it must be being associated with the Rider organization or Rider fans makes people stupid....But with so many Rider fans in Calgary their must be thousands of Stamps fans associated with Rider fans in the city.
The implications are devastating. We might as well just all commit ritual suicide now or Calgary fan could all become a bunch of drunken aholes who constantly start fights.

That's a good point. With all of the Saskatchewan transplants in Calgary there's a decent chance that will come true in a generation.
