The tournament has created HUGE money by broadcasters....

The publication said a 14-year deal averaging $840 million per year has been offered by CBS and Turner Broadcasting and given to the NCAA. It cited several sources "with direct knowledge of the talks."

This is rather staggering, but apparently the NCAA has decided not to absolutely destroy the tournament by expanding to 96 teams. It seemed so certain, but word is that a 14 year extenstion has been signed and the field will only expand to 68, so all of the 16 seeds will come from play-in games. That makes the chances of a 16 v. 1 upset even more remote, but I can live with that.

Even more shocking, there's actually good news for fans. Every single game will be broadcast live in its entirety. No more switching from game to game. TBS, TNT, and TruTV will be carrying first through third round games alongside CBS, so it's just a matter of finding the right channel as opposed to hoping the internet feed doesn't lag. I realize this part doesn't apply to those of you in Canada, but it's great news for me. I might have to get another TV to do side by side games!!
