We have a blockbuster deal with 7 players, Dallas sends Josh Howard,Drew Gooden,Jame Singleton, and Quniton Ross to Washington for Caron Butler, Brendan Haywood, and DeShawn Stevenson.

Odd deal from Dallas' point of view IMO. I'm not sure Butler provides anymore scoring than Howard, and he certainly doesn't provide more defence. Defence is more important in Dallas, and I really don't think Haywood is good enough (too inconsistent) to be on a championship starting lineup over the long term. The rest of the players in the deal are basically cap exchanges. Hard not to give the edge to Washington slightly.

DeRozan did alright in the dunk competition. It was boring as hell this year, but at least a Raptor once again had the best dunk. If there is one thing the Raps produce ever year, it's their yearly contribution to the contest. At least this year the league got rid of the ridiculous props. I'd take this kind of contest over a guy pulling up a ladder and putting a candle lit cupcake, anyday of the week.

Not the one...

I like Butler much better than Howard so I like the move for DAL.

And the friggin' Grizzlies end the Raps' home winning streak.
Bad loss.

A few really bad breaks with some shots that rattled around inside the cylinder and never went down.
weak d on mayo in the last minute though.

I don't follow Basketball, but even I can notice that the Nets who the Raptors beat tonight by 17 points without Chris Bosh and got double digit scoring from 7 players.....The Nets record is now 5-50. How the heck is a basketball team that bad.

The Raps have been playing really well in the last month! Hopefully they keep it up and have a bit of confidence going into the playoffs.

Raps are struggling without Bosh...on the way to their fourth straight loss.
Preview of things to come if #4 leaves in the off-season.

I don't know if the post-Olympic optimism, but I think CB4 will re-sign this summer. Coming into this season I thought he was gone for sure, but with him in the line-up this team could contend in a not so certain East in the future. Too bad Hedo's albatross of a deal is going to handcuff them a little bit.

The Hedo trade didn't turn out as well and many would have thought.

I don't know, but they look great. That's one basketball jersey I'd consider wearing. The warm up suits look great too.

Wow, thank god the east is such a mess after Cle, Orl and Atl.
This team is really back to its old habits of poor defence and soft efforts on the offensive end. The more I see evans play the less impressed I am. He adds very little to the team in any situation. His rebounding hasn't been a strength. I think a shooter like Kapono would be a good look on the raps' current second unit, cause we know that Turkey glue can't shoot with consistency. This team without a dominant bosh is a bottom six team. They may have to sign and trade him this summer...:-(
HOwever, if the raps can hold on to a playoff spot and not match up with CLE, ORl, Atl then they will be able to upset boston. The margin for error is small, so the raps need to hold onto fifth even though I think boston will continue to own this version of the raps.

I think a read a stat somewhere... Kobe has averaged 48 points at home against the Raptors in the last 5 or 6 games.

Huh. 8 point lead at half, Kobe with 12 points, but you just know he's going to explode before the end of the game.
