Personally I'm hoping the Yanks sell to a group with some serious dough. Cash is king and the only way to win in the EPL.

I mean, Chelsea has been in the top 4 for years thanks in large part to Abramavich taking hits to the junk over and over and over, hes sunk a fortune into that team. Probably more than Hick's andf Gilette's net worth.

I'd actually be interested in knowing how bad the yanks are into this. The most basic reason I've wanted them gone forever is because to me they come across as idiots.
As they are so heavily leveraged that their banks are calling in their credit. I know they're in the process of trying to rid themselves of the Dallas Stars and I think the Texas Rangers have been in financial trouble for some time now, but the basic premise is that they finance absolutely everything through debt.

Yanks (finally!) out!....well soon, hopefully. I hope that anybody who thought that financing such an endeavour to that level is an awful idea, and turns off similar idiots from buying the club from the current idiots.

Isn't Hick the owner of the Texas teams and I thought Gillette bought the Canadiens a few years ago, no? I think the biggest problem there is that their relationship has broken down and they hardly communicate.
Boardroom problems at Arsenal I've recently seen. There is a tug-of-war between and American and Russian for control of the club. Kroneke owns the Avalanche (I think) and a few other clubs. Then you have the fiasco in Manchester.
You are right on American owners not really being well placed to be great owners. I also think they don't really get the significance of these clubs to their supporters. Not just teams or clubs but institutions in places. No matter how bad things were in the UK, the people always had football.

And they always will regardless of what the toe rags at the league or in the board rooms do, which is why I love AFC Wimbledon (until they make the premiership then I have to revert to the Hammers!)

Airspace opens up, so no risk of me missing. Good thing, I fly on Saturday. Anybody watching the Chelsea match, keep an eye out for a giant "Calgary Reds" flag. What end will it be in? I have NO idea yet.

I heard someone talking about this and it made so sense so I was wondering what you guys think
Liverpool and Man U are both on 18 titles
now that 4th is pretty much done would you rather lose to Chelsea so Man U don't get the title?

I dont get hung up on past accomplishments and the number of titles won or any crap like that. Sports to me are a strictly 'what have you done lately' industry.
I'd personally prefer Chelski because I hate Man U from the bottom of my heart while I merely loathe Chelski.

Yyyyep sounds about right. Regardless, I'd still either result as long as Liverpool win that game.

My granddad emailed me this morning that there is a heavy heavy rumour going around the UK that an England international may not be playing tonight because he's trying to get a paper publication ban through. Think John Terry 2.0.

Liverpool at Atletico Madrid right now. Gotta say that the lack of Torres makes me highly skeptical.

Losing to Madrid on away goals, and to a Forlan goal no less, just sums up the way this season has gone. It certainly ranks right up there as one of the most frustrating and disappointing in my many years of supporting the team.
Like the Flames season, the end cannot come soon enough.

Yeah I've heard from my cousins that rumors are circling in the mdeia that Gerrard's wife is having an affair with a player from another team, and that Gerrard knocked up a 16 year old.
Probably just BS tabloids as usual.

Not a Liverpool fan but I do have to say they have to change the rules about road goals when a game comes down to extra time in the Champions/Europa League.
It is stupid that a road goal in extra time still counts as a road goal, why should a team have an advantage when the game goes to the extra thirty minutes.
