My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings;
With it's ninth pick, Team Kayfabe is going to play a little loose with the rules (because if you're not cheating, you're not trying), in the Pay Per View category, one of the best cards of all time, The inaugural Super J Cup tournament. Just check out the amazing roster!
Dave Meltzer named this the best major wrestling event in 1994, due to its meaning to the industry, the rise of young stars, and its match quality. Meltzer rated the finals a five-star match. He also gave Liger vs. Sasuke a four-and-three-quarter star rating.
Pegasus, Liger, Samurai, Malenko, Otani, and Black Tiger were New Japan representatives. Delfin, Michinoku, and Sasuke represented Michinoku Pro. Fuji and Hayabusa were for FMW. Gedo and Motegi solely represented Wrestle Association R and SPWF, respectively.
I can't remember her ever cutting a promo. I can't remember her ever really saying anything on TV outside of the wedding storyline. But she was a main player in the 80s, and a big part of Macho Man's success IMO.
I still remember her coming to the ring at Macho Man's retirement match vs. the Ultimate Warrior when Sherri was Mach's valet. That moment was amazing as far as wrestling goes, and it's stuck out in my mind.
I don't remember her being in the nWo, or in the WCW for that matter, but it looks like she was.
I was floored when I heard of her death. The 80s were not kind to women's wrestling in North America, but she was in the thick of things in a time when there really wasn't any main female presence.
Team Stylin' and Profilin' is proud to select as our Title Belt The WWE Hardcore Title.
The WWE Hardcore Championship belt itself is a replica of the "Winged Eagle" WWF Championship title that was smashed in several places and reassembled with two long pieces of duct tape with the words "Hardcore" and "Champion" written in marker. A long-standing rumor stated that this belt was the same one that was stolen by Mr. Perfect from Hulk Hogan on a 1989 episode of Saturday Night's Main Event and destroyed with a hammer at the end of the episode. However, this has been proved to be false, since the destroyed belt was kept by then WWF referee/booker Mel Phillips. A new belt was purposely destroyed to create the Hardcore Championship.
With my 9th round pick, I am proud to select in the Women's category...
the current WWE Diva's Champion, Canada's own...
