No it was a good follow up to his dad dieing, but this show is just starting to tank. Not nearly as good as the first couple seasons. The whole comedy part of it, is almost stupid now.

Yeah, tonight's episode felt like it missed the mark a bit. It was a good concept, but the execution was just off.

My grandfather passed away yesterday, so that episode made me cry a lot.

I expected Jason Segal to bring his A game for an episode like this and he did...but the episode as a whole was weak at best especially the Ted/Barney storyline.

I gave up watching this show a while back.
It is dreadfully unfunny and more hammy than Hammy the Hamster eating ham.

Then why add to a thread, that is clearly discussing the last episode of this show?

It's a 14 page thread on the show - I gave my opinion on the show, which initially I liked, but now don't.
I hope this is ok with you.

Big bump to the thread after a couple of years dormant. Didn't seem like it needed a new thread.
So, it finally happened (sort of). On the season 8 finale, they finally revealed Ted's future wife (although, he hasn't met her yet)...
...it was the very final shot of the episode, so they haven't revealed anything about her other than the fact she owns a yellow umbrella.
Nothing really to discuss. Just thought I'd let anyone who gave up on the show know that they can finally sleep easy tonight.

A quote from the press release this morning....this show sucks now.

At the end of a long statement CBS put out this morning, Bays said, "Our ninth season will tell the epic story of the longest wedding weekend ever. We hope you like it. Next stop, Farhampton..."

So, it'll be like 24, only with each episode covering two hours instead of one?

An entire season devoted to the wedding weekend? Beyond stupid and they just love jerking their audience around at this point.

Scoring Winger

The show has been dragged out so long that the actress playing the young daughter can now be cast to be her own mother.

They've already shown parts of the weekend in flashforwards. It is going to be quite the tap dance to make everything fit.

I was kind of hoping Ted would be single for the rest of his life. Man is that guy ever annoying.

That's pretty funny.
The actress who plays the daughter, born January 1987: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0960912
The actress who will play the mom, born August 1985: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2129662
