I'll probably show up for a few games after the Angels and BoSox finish, or if/when that game is out of hand. I'd actually like to try net once, since I posted a couple of shutouts in my BAP today. Of course, I was playing on Rookie and Nick wasn't one of the d-men standing in front of me.
This is probably a terrible idea, but what the hell, right? If I get abused early, I will happily bow out like Lags did in one, and we will never speak of this again.

Yeah, I noticed my stats for that one didn't get counted and we were still stuck at one win. My first goal (and 3/4 of my career points) wiped from the books! Sucks to your auntie, EA.
EDIT to add: Double suck to EA for glitching a game when we were up big. I've had two first-ever goals, and none of them are going on my record. My lousy goaltending performance, however? That sucker will count. And triple suck to EA for kicking me out of games at the end of the night. I couldn't start a game, then locked up, couldn't hear Nick the entire time, and was disconnected from my last two games. Sorry Lags, topshelf, Nick, Phaneuf/Conny, and whomever else I "bailed" on towards the end there.

nicker, the computer also scored in OT with your character in the last game.
I decided to change my online player to a defensive defenseman. I thought I played well as a D-man last game so I will give it a try longer term.

Thats awesome, we might actually have people playing real positions instead of everyone being a sniper trying to play forwards.
Anyway, yeah you got disconnected and your computer player scored in the OT to win it all.

Haha nice! Here's hoping that one counts on my stats. It would only be fair, what with me being hosed out of a couple goals already...
And Nick, what's up with us not being able to talk to each other? First we had Lags having to deal with us both talking to him at the same time, since we couldn't hear each other...then Phaneuf had to deal with it at the end of the night, when I kept getting dropped from games.
I blame you. And you, in turn, can blame Marc...then all will be right with the world.

Well guys I won't be playing as a goalie with the team, I'll just stick to skaters. Too stressful when I let in bad goals and our defense and offense isn't quite there yet.
On a more serious note for those who want to start working towards a more competitive team, I think we need to work a bit together on some basic rules to help us be more successful. I think we need to be more careful with our passing. When a computer player has the puck (mostly goalie and defense), we tend to press Pass too quickly when we aren't open. I think we should always let a computer goalie hold the puck. Too often the other team gets a hold of it. Same with defence, we get them to pass right away into the neutral zone and there are too many turnovers.
Offensively, I'm not too sure what we can do to be more successful. I see some teams using exploits to always use the same plays. One guy beat us 3-0 with the same goal every time. Either we have to play along or we need to be more creative. I try and mix it up by going behind the net, using wristers from the point and 5-hole slapshots from the outside.
Anyone have any ideas?

My suggestion: dont give the puck to marc, its a no brainer.....
but on the real, creative is good, alot of times we skate in and just fire it right into the chest of the goalie and then we are done for offense... We need to start trying to pass to the defensive point especially when we have human player playing defense. When those guys shoot there is more chance for deflections, rebounds, and goalie screens. Also it opens up the forwards on offense because most human players will chase the puck out to the point. Which leads me to my next point , on defense ( this includes me as a forward too) we seem to chase the puck carrier wayyyy to much . I bet if we would stay home a lil more we wouldnt leave the goaltender out to dry as much... anyway we seem to be getting there slowly but i have seen improvement, and lags you do a great job goaltending , i dont think anyone cares when you let in a few, and i only talk about you when i know you we are in a game where you cant hear my mic hahhahaha

I agree with the computer passing. You shouldn't call for the computer pass unless they have a clear path to give you the puck. IMO goalie passing should only be done when there is no opposing players around the crease.
