I didn't realize they handed out half goals now. So the aggregate was 3.5-1 heading into the game? Interesting.
I know what you mean just joking.

Jagger, not disagreeing with you but sometimes I think there might be more to that than meets the eye, and I'm purely speculating.
I just have always wondered how it was so shortly after Staam was at Lazio that he was caught for banned substances.

Ferguson did admit years later in his book that selling Jaap Stam was his biggest mistake as a manager.

I love the guy who said that Reina is a better goalkeepr than Van der Saar. Did you see the Drogba "goal" today? Totally embarrassing. He wasn't much better on the Alex free kick.

Thank goodness you were joking. Seriously I've tried to explain away goals and the "Cup Winners' Cup" to non-soccer people since I was in junior high and it never seems to work. I was not looking forward to explaining it again.
So now I just say .5 goals

I don't believe that Van Der Saar wouldn't have saved either of those. Also, I believe it was the last one by Lampard. Chelsea tried the exact same play earlier (although the pass wasn't stretched as far), and Reina made the save. Pepe Reina is no Iker Casillas, but he is a better goalkeeper than Edwin Van Der Saar IMO.
Anyways, instead of arguing, come down to On The Rocks, and let's have a pint, and support our team!

What's On The Rocks? I walked into Peanuts at the Carriage House Inn a few years ago for the 2007 Champions League final and felt like I was going to get mugged walking in the door. That many Scousers in one spot scares me.

On the Rocks is the new location. Elbow & Canyon Meadows Dr. SW. Got a good bit of TVs, great food, and a ledge we refer to as the Kop, since we stand at it while watching.
The scariest part for me when I first started going was pretending I actually knew what they were saying. Now, I can't say I speak Scouse, but I definitely understand it just fine now.

People who think they know England think that I'm a Scouser but I'm actually from the 'Posh' side of the water! (The River Mersey for those that don't know.) My accent has changed though since moving here in 1992. It had to otherwise nobody would have understood me!
And Aces I have to question your Liverpool affinity again when you make a crass statement about scouser's like that. That's something only a Manc or Southerner would do a la "What do you call a Scouser in a suit?" "The accused!"

I'm from the land of Jason McAteer and John Aldridge, if you're picking up what I'm laying down.

Ahh Jason McAteer. Not a great player but one of the best post game quotes ever from USA 94.
Reporter: Anything to say to the folks back home that were watching this game?
McAteer: Yeah, Mum, Dad. I forgot to set my Video. Can you tape neightbours for me?

Aldo IS a scouser. His hometown is Liverpool. He played for the Republic due to family ties.
wiki:
John William Aldridge (born Liverpool, 18 September 1958) is a British-born former Republic of Ireland international striker
I really don't think a Liverpool fan should skit at scousers at all.

Hey, anybody coming down to OTR tomorrow for the game vs. the Arse? I'm likely gonna miss the first half due to work. 1pm kick-off against an Arsenal team hurt on defense. The Reds HAVE to take advantage of this. They do, and I sincerely think that may be the league right there. The Mancs will keep on faltering with their play as of late.

It will be tough sledding for Arsenal without Van Persie and Adebayor....but I look forward to this game against the dirty Reds.

^^^ They've completely dominated though. The Arse have been extremely lucky. Surely the Reds will be able to turn it around in the second half if they play the same way. If not, kiss the title goodbye.

True enough and look at that, they just made it 2-1 10 minutes into the second half!
