he had a great triple, but has looked horrible in the rest of his at bats.

Upton left the base path there, isn't that an automatic out?

RISP. Hit the friggin runners in when they're on base, people. Man on third with no out and he doesn't score? I could do better with a wiffle ball bat. Inexcusable to piss away a chance to win like that.

Things just fell apart. That's what happens when you screw up your offensive opportunities on a repetitive basis. There's a limit to you much can get away with that; pitching can only hold up for so long.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing while expecting different results. Or something like that.

The team needs to change their approach at bat and management needs to make a pitch, so to speak, for a friggin' hitter.

at least they haven't given up. And Zaun has played pretty well. Rolen is awesome. Overbay seems to be getting into the groove. Wells is hitting. Now we need Stairs, Rios, Stewart and Hill (better today) to get going.

Our pitching 1-5 is top 3 in the game. Our offense is bottom 10 (5?). You won't go anywhere with that. Just watch this inept management piss away our years with Halladay, McGowan, Marcum and Burnett.

If Doc wasn't such a stand-up guy I'd be convinced he'd just up and ask for a trade one of these days. Honestly.

That was tough to watch. When Rios tripled I was thinking....."maybe this is the type of game to get the offense going and get the team on a bit of a hot streak."

Not sure how Stewart has 2 strikes and watches a ball come right down the can and not swing at it. I'd much rather have a guy K by swinging at a tough pitch rather than just stand there and watch one go by.

Ouch.

If I was managing, first pitch, maybe second after the triple, suicide squeeze. No screwing around. Perfect chance for it.

Interesting tidbit in here: http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Baseball/M...513266-cp.html

Says that a hitter "from outside the organization" is expected to be added before tonight's game. Any thoughts?

Stewart didn't even take a cut in a 5 pitch (I believe) at-bat. Trying to wait for your pitch doesn't really work if all you should be doing is trying to fly out.

The funniest was him whining to the ump about calling him out on a mistake fastball.

I bet the Jays will add Brad Wilkerson; as the Marniers have Designated him for assignment (same thing that the Jays did with Thomas). He would be cheap to add.

Personally I don't think the guy will help the Jays at all but I can't see JP making a big trade landing anyone with power.....

It will be Wilkerson, JP has had a woody for this guy for years, almost moved Rios for him after Rios' setback season a couple of years ago. Typical Ricciardi guy, likes to see pitches, walks a fair bit, unclutch hitter with moderate to no power. I can't believe Godfrey is going to let JP waste the best pitching staff in the AL, by not making a move for a bonifide bat.
