Denver's defense is for real.
Jake has looked like crap a lot more than I thought he would this year. I really don't know what to think about him at this point. I hope that Shanahan gives the Colts a healthy dose of Tatum Bell. That SHOULD be the recipe they use, but you can't ever tell with that guy.

A ton of things intruige me about this game. The Colts defense actually did a good job at shutting down a very good Washington running game today, Mcfarland was a great pickup. However nobody runs the ball better then Denver. Then you got Denver and that amazing defense Vs the Colts amazing offense. Throw in the fact the teams have met two times in the playoffs in recent history, and you got yourself the game of the week. The Colts chance's are much better if Bob Sanders plays

When the Broncos traded Clinton Portis for Champ Bailey, I always thought they did so thinking they wouldn't be getting to any Superbowls anytime soon unless they could stop Peyton Manning and Marvin Harrision. This should be a very interesting match up as Denvers offence has been pretty sluggish for 6 games now failing to score into the 20's, but feature a tough defence that has held teams to single digits for 5 straight weeks, and only 2 TD's all year.

Eric Mangini the early pick for coach of the year
The Colts may have one of the worst defense's in the league.

ummm, Sean Payton has a pretty good case.

Had me fooled.
It's a gigantic loss for that defense. It is akin to the Bears losing Brian Urlacher.
WOW.
It's a shame that the 4th game of his suspension is in Denver. You'd really like to play a team with their full compliment of players.
|
Boy Merriman has really killed any chance of him being mentioned as the next great Linebacker. He has no prayer of ever being hailed as the next Singletary etc.... as he will have the drug cheat rep for the media to rehash for the rest of his career. Stupid, Stupid, Stupid.

I'll tell you this much, I don't feel very confident.
I think the defense will give the Broncos a chance to win.

Alright, well seems like I just lost every single little ounce of respect I had for Hasselbeck.
http://www.startribune.com/510/story/762043.html
"I'm sure [Henderson] didn't try to put me out for a long period of time, but they didn't want me to finish the game, either," Hasselbeck said.
"If Brad Johnson is the quarterback on that play, I guarantee you no one touches his knee," Hasselbeck said. "That's all."
Who the HELL is this moron? If anyone saw the play, they would CLEARLY see Mack Strong blocking EJ down towards the QB.
So what, now defensive players should try harder NOT TO FALL?
Go watch some tape you prima dona.

Without the roids we may have never even known his name. Without the roids he may not be able to hold onto a roster spot if he loses strength and speed. Look at how much slower all the US track stars are without roids. Look at how slow Ben Johnson was without them.

I'm hoping somehow SEA can get hometown boy Bledsoe out of DAL, now that Parcells has picked Romo. (Rick Mirer, where are you?)
Bledose was ****ed after halftime, and had to watch while Romo did nothing more then he did.
Bledose also didn't want to be backup anymore anywhere.
For SEA, not sold on Wallace long term, and Hasselback has shown in the past, when not 100% healthy, or, focused on the intricate offense of Holmgren's, that he's pretty much usless, unless you consider throwing interceptions of any use.
I have my doubts that Hasselback will be 100% when he comes back in a few weeks.
An NFL veteran to lead a veteran SEA offense through some rough waters right now is a better idea then putting it all of Wallace's shoulders, or, having Alexander and/or Hasselback feel the need to rush back too soon and injure themselves longer term

The trade deadline has passed, though I suppose the cowboys could put him on waivers and then the seabirds could snag him that way.

Yup....about as a bad a drubbing as i have ever witnessed in pro football.
If Im Lovie Smith i sit Grossman and others from here on in as the potential for nastiness is gonna be there in a big way.
Im really paying attention to the Falcons/Bengals game...man is Carson Palmer ever a good QB. When that offense is healthy and clicking they are as good as any in the league.
Interesting to see the Eagles getting manhandled by the Jags, though the score really isnt reflective of the dominance thus far.

Jacksonville would do well to put up a couple of more TD's. I don't think they can hold McNabb/Westbrook down for 60 minutes.
If Green Bay had a middle of the road defense they'd be a playoff team.
Over the summer I was visiting my Dad and my little brother broke out a highlight tape of his senior year. There were a couple of Carson Palmer plays on it. They guy looked like an NFL QB when he was in high school.

Seahawks haven't looked bad, but they cannot stop LJ.

Seattle HAS looked bad. They can get their QB and RB back, but the last few weeks have shown that they can't play D. Not a championship team anymore. Anyone see Ocho's jersey in pregame?

I still remember his first pass at USC, about a 60 yard bomb with some of the best footwork I've ever seen. One of the rare plays I'll always remember, a streak down the right sideline.

Early on Senneca Wallace looked fine, and they were moving down the field, matching the Chiefs score for score. Then D Jackson dropped a pass, they punt and then find themselves 2 scores down, and still not able to KC. Thats when the wheels fell off, Wallace gets picked, and I turn to watch the Jags/Eagles game.
