We don't need to go on and on but that isn't what happened, like look at the photo you just quoted lol. And come on now you obviously dislike the player.
“Yeah, that guy obviously didn’t want to fight Tom. He just wanted to wrestle,” MacKinnon said. “I wouldn’t want to fight Tom either.”
This guy didn't win a fight today lol, or want to have one for that matter

Guy just had a Gordie Howe at the Olympics

Good result for Canada. Control what you can control.

Canada easily the favourite for gold.
Am a little disappointed waiting all this time for Olympics hockey just to get a likely two games against the Czechs but no games against two of USA/Sweden/Slovakia.

That was always going to happen. Olympic hockey is 90% boring.
And Lol @ Tom Wilson getting his ass handed to him! Never fight a man named Pierre! He learned to fight on the mean streets of Reims!
This ain't your run-of-the-mill Frenchman!

Is one of the quarter final is USA vs Sweden?
Imagine waited all these years to finally be able to go back to the Olympic and one of these countries not even able to medal.

Yes. USA plays the winner of Sweden vs Latvia in the quarters. Canada plays the winner of Czech vs Denmark in the quarters. Slovakia plays the winner of Germany vs France in the quarters. Finland plays the winner of Switzerland vs Italy in the quarters.

They dont have a giant team of people designing them. Its 'Team France.' I actually wouldnt be surprised if they actually are their practice jerseys.
I gotta say...France did better than I thought they would.
Its hockey. I've been to France 3 times and I cant say I've ever seen a sheet of ice.
Put Team Canada against them in Soccer and the score would likely look the same just for the other team.

Pretty sure CMNT has never lost 10-2 to France in Soccer. They last played a friendly in 2024 with a 0-0 result.

Even Crinon’s teammate says it wasn’t a fight.
Quote:
“Yeah, that guy obviously didn’t want to fight Tom. He just wanted to wrestle,” MacKinnon said. “I wouldn’t want to fight Tom either.”
France captain Pierre-Édouard Bellemare played 10 years in the NHL and agreed with MacKinnon’s sentiment.
“You can’t call that a fight,” Bellemare said. “The five (minutes) was kind of ridiculous. Just give them the two plus two for roughing and wash it off. If you guys have covered the NHL, you wouldn’t categorize that as a fight, right?”

So unless there are some major upsets in the qualifying round, the quarter finals should look like this:
Canada vs Czechia
USA vs Sweden
Finland vs Switzerland
Slovakia vs Germany
There is potential in that quarterfinal for some good matchups that could result in some close games. Slovakia vs Germany could be interesting.

Whoa tho!! Friendlies dont mean squat. This is the Olympics! A 'Best on Best' Tournament right? Or so I am led to believe?
Put France against Canada in a World Cup knockout match. It wouldn't be pretty.

Ze Germans have taken Slovakia before and they can do it again! Granted...it appears the Slovaks have been working out considerably since then and are...for lack of a better term...rather 'Yoked' now...
Thats actually going to be a really fun game.

It's strange that they don't reseed for the quarterfinals, but they do for the semis. I guess it's because the qualifying round and the quarterfinals are on consecutive days, so it ensures the winners of the qualifying games will play at the same time the following day.
Canada's quarterfinal will be Wednesday morning at 8:40am MT.

Think of the opposite. One of Slovakia, Germany or France will play for a medal.
France's 2 goals against Canada were actually important.

I’m sorry but this just isn’t true. France are a great football team but Canada has many players that play in Europe and can play at the World Cup level. Do I think Canada could beat France in a one off match? They would have a puncher’s chance. Or, a few key performances, a little luck, and any team can beat any other team.
That’s the risk in one off sport. Why even play the game if this wasn’t true.
On topic, Canada did what was needed to get the preferred side of the draw. That’s tournament play.

Not sure what the point of that was at all, unless Wilson just has a screw loose, which is probably the main reason for all of that.

You guys give Wilson too much credit. It's 10-2, Canada didn't have to get payback, Cooper could have kept Wilson on the bench the rest of the game. Canada sent Wilson on to get him.
