They would end up with a lot of odd-man rushes, which had higher chances. Their shot volume was low.
100%

Collapse, block shots and then strike with a stretch pass.

Worked in some cases, but wasn't sustainable.

But even high danger stuff points more to luck than anything else ... they were 28/30 teams in HDF60 and 22/30 for HDA60

You are absolutely right though - it didn't go well for him, and even Couturier has been taking shots at him earlier this year.

I wouldn't want Tortorella anywhere near Calgary (not that I would want Hartley back either).
Ha! Yes I totally did forget.

I knew Hartley from before and I criticized the hire. Posters at the time accused me of being prejudice against French, which is hilarious if anybody actually knew me personally.

Good old CP when going against the grain.

Yes, this is where my argument collapses - the HDF60 and HDA60. I should really take the time to take a deep dive into analytics a lot more - seems like I am missing out on a lot by just reading your Game Takes (and I mean that in a good way - I appreciate them in your game takes, and I realize there is a lot more that would be fun to dig into as well). Either way, you win this argument, as i have no rebuttal.

Am I crazy, or were there a lot of genuine posts during that time about how they lost the CORSI battle, but the game never felt lopsided. My memory has probably exaggerated how many of those posts happened during the season, so that's probably where the difference lies in my head. For sure there were a good number of those posts being posted - with a lot of thanks too - but that number has probably simply grown in my head over the years.

There were many.

I know we are on complete opposite sides of the spectrum when it comes to Hartley, but if you watched the away broadcasts, so many crews would comment on how much of a teacher Hartley was on the ice even on game day morning skates. They lauded him all over the NHL.

Yes, he was an asshat and plays mindgames, and thus why he is unemployable except for the KHL, but he did a lot of good work too.
Backlund, Monahan and Gaudreau did better under GG and Peters than Hartley. I doubt different coaches mattered there - they just progressed steadily.
