He should still be harder on pucks, finish off checks, and not be the first player to go for a change on his line.
If you're making $5.75M you're expected to generate some offense. Besides I doubt he's going to do much better playing this way with either Huberdeau - Kadri, or Backlund - Coleman.

It's the roster though, it couldn't possibly be the absolutely horrific system employed.

Every player looks bad. The system is ultra, ultra passive in all three zones. Clearly this style doesn't suit the makeup of the team. Sharangovic on the 4th line? Parekh can't get PP time.
Insisting on playing the 4th line and 3rd D pairing together all the time.
Wolf is the sole reason he was given an extension instead of making him prove he has something this year.

It would be nice after two years of Huska vastly overachieving with the roster he has for him to finally have a bad season, if not for any other reason than to validate opinions that have had no chance to be validated over the past two years.

Any stat that says you're missing 'an' elite player probably isn't too accurate, to put it mildly.
This team is missing elite skill everywhere, except the starting goalie. And that's if he doesn't have a sophomore slump.
It's a pretty bad team.
