Pospisil has more points than McDavid, Draisaitl, Hyman, Nugent-Hopkins and Bouchard COMBINED.

If he's futzing around with the puck behind his net, you should be allowed to clear him out and take it.

He gets to be special. When he's in his Blue Paint. Outside of that? Open Season.
It was such a light tap that if they would have called Backlund on it, they would have had to call Skinner on the embellishment as well. It was just a warning to the Oilers that if you mess with our goalie, we can do the same.

Good thing the Oilers panel stood up for Skinner. Gave them full permission to go after Backlund cause “he ain’t no Mike Tyson.” What a bunch of losers employed by Sportsnet.

A year or two ago I said I liked skinner, seemed like an honest guy that the oilers didn't deserve. I take it back. He's a diver just like the rest of them now. How's the calf Stu? Do you need major surgery?

I think last season the Oilers were kinda getting goalied and unlucky to start the season as hilarious as it was at the time...they have been outplayed all 3 games, two against teams that are supposedly bottom 5 teams.

On that erroneous icing off the post call, I had to assume the linesman checked back at his partner (as they always do) to ensure the arm was raised.

Then as he looks back toward puck, sees it coming back his direction and assumes it missed wide and rebounded off end boards.

Innocent mistake. And they got the correction right moving the draw to centre. If the Flames weren’t allowed to change though, as one poster suggested, that’d be egregious.

I remember that three in a row makes a dynasty. I also remember 1986 ruining the Oilers dynasty.

SN central hosts asked what was more surprising... the flames being 3-0 or the oilers being 0-3. To anybody outside of SN oilers propaganda land.... flames being 3-0 is more suprising. E=NG.

Let's not kid ourselves. There is still a significant lack of talent on this roster. But have set the groundwork for a cultural rebuild. Work hard, guys winning/losing spots in camp, etc.
I love watching this team. And unfortunately (for the greater good) they just may be successful.

Short memories? Hmmm...lemme see....

I remember the "fall for Hall" to get a chance to draft Taylor Hall and then traded Hall for Adam Larsson one.for.one.

I also remember the "Fail for Nail" to get a chance to draft Nail Yakupov and then proceed to trade him for Zach Pochiro (who?)and a third.

I remember as well they lucked themselves into drafting McDavid and now 9 years later, they still haven't won anything.

Its really early and the Oilers could make us all eat our words.

But this goes beyond a 0-3 start, this goes back through their whole preseason where they looked like trash.

The Oilers fell into a trap, they still think that its about outscoring. Its not, and you can't trade away or let go of your best defensive forwards and plug in offensive players and expect a positive result

Right now the Oilers are leaky in their own end, their vaunted penalty kill is dead.

the oilers last year were an uninspiring 5v5 team that was bolstered by a stellar powerplay. If the powerplay ever faltered the Oilers are likely not a playoff team. So what's happening this year, the Oilers special teams are awful. This also isn't the first game where the Oilers looked like they ran out of gas in the second half of the game, but this one stands out because the Oilers are in a desperate situation and they folded cards.

So here's the problem besides the Oilers having a basically rookie coach that had a new coach bump last year.

I question the Oilers general fitness.

I question Knobby's ability to motivate this team, and the preseason and their start point to that.
I also question the Oilers leadership.
They are an old team that will wear out quicker as well.
The Oilers should have done everything to shore up their defensive conscious up front. The Oilers should have spent what money they had on their blueline.
The Oilers should have bought in a better backup goalie that could push an inconsistent Skinner.

I don't think to be honest that the Oilers will be able to deal with the Flyers speed.

Telus should have made their own sports channel. There's no reason we should be subjected to viewing games on a network with their name on the buildings of our two most hated rivals. Leslie hosting, Steinberg doing intermissions. Working cameras and competent production. Would have been great.

That would require Telus to care what their customers want… which, in my long experience, is a very rare occurrence. They've been a pain in the arse ever since the reverse takeover by BC Tel, when the head office moved to Vancouver.

I do remember that the Oilers decade of darkness started with a loss in the cup finals.

Anything would be better than Rogers McDavid Hockey on Sportsnet.
