Well I guess foolish of me to underestimate those scrappy underdogs Man City. Embarrassment avoided...for now. To resume when they get clapped in the next round.

Well with how this has broken Villa fans gotta be feeling pretty good, path to the QF isn't too bad. Bayern and Madrid get the short end.

Dinamo is out despite the win because Sporting scored late to get a point, and City stormed back for all 3 points.

Crappy.

Why is it mirror imaged? Can you explain what I'm looking at?
I look forward to an Arsenal vs Arsenal quarterfinal.

There's still a draw to come that will determine the whole bracket. So in Arsenal's case they are already in the round of 16 and they can only play one of the teams in that four team pod from the playoff round. Same with Inter. And then in the QF they can only get a team from the Atletico or Leverkusen section. Who they get will depend on the draw. It does seem kind of convoluted.

Shouts to Rangers who climbed over 5 teams to grab the 8th spot!

Crazy, crazy scenes at the end of the match.

Heerenveen boss Robin van Persie was left exasperated after match officials mistakenly allowed Fortuna Sittard to field 12 players against his side on Saturday.

"I find what preceded that goal very special," Van Persie said post-match. "Fortuna Sittard had 12 men on the field for a minute before that throw-in. Apparently that is allowed and possible. You can't imagine that? That it is simply allowed.
https://www.espn.com/soccer/story/_/...-referee-error

For a Professional game thats pretty rough.

CSB: I was coaching a youth game one time and for whatever reason the Leagu was having trouble getting Refs to show up, so normally you'd abandon the match and re-schedule but it got to a point where the coaches had to Ref one half each because they were just running out of time to get these matches played.

So one match we're up against this team and they've got this Croatian coach who did just an appalling job of the first half and now its my turn.

They're about to go on the attack and I blow the whistle.

"Why? Why you stop game?"

You've got 13 players on the pitch.

"No! No! I....oh....mistake, I promise!! Mistake!"

Happens again. Blow the whistle.

"What? You trying to cheat us out of game??"

Dude...you have got 13 players on the pitch. Count them! You can count cant you son? You're like 30 years older than me!

Ugh...what a pain that was. I give Refs a lot more respect after that crap, thats a tough gig.

Alphonso Davies has agreed a new contract at Bayern Munich, the Bundesliga club announced on Tuesday, bringing an end to Real Madrid's long-term pursuit of the player.

Davies' deal with the Bavarian giants runs through the end of the 2029-30 season and would see his stay there reach 11 years should he play out the contract.

"I am very happy to have extended my contract at this great club," Davies said in a news release.

Well any hope Man City died in the last 10 minutes there, should be 2-1 up into the second leg, end up 3-2 down. Probably get clobbered next week.
