This makes me worried about the return we will get for Hanifin.

What are you basing that on?

Considering that he is playing in the AHL at 20, I would say that alone puts him a fair bit higher than 5th round in a redraft.

Good trade. People are way overvaluing Tanev's value. Yeah he's a warrior and a great guy. Doesn't mean he was ever going to fetch a first as a rental.

Very happy with how Conroy is operating. Out with the expiring assets and keep stacking up those futures. It finally seems like we have a GM playing chess, not checkers.

Isn't Artem Grushnikov the type of prospect you normally like?
Curious to see if you have anything on him.

Initial impressions, I think he's a fine prospect.
Pospisil was ranked 18th on our own metrics. These listings mean jack ####.

Yes an extra second is good, but this is another good piece sold at 80% of it’s value, just like Lindholm and Zadorov.

Cam Whynot is a better prospect than Grushnikov and this team didn’t even sign him.

Based on what?

If the Flames targeted him, and the Stars drafted him (probably the best scouting staff in the league right now), there is likely a lot of redeeming qualities to this player. I'd much prefer a guy that is already proficient in his defence than a guy who needs to be taught it from the ground up once they enter pros.

Okay, next up is Hanifin and Markstrom. Stock up on picks, drop in standings, and start building the team's core again.

Either highly coincidental or there's a reason it's NJ, who they've been in talks with for weeks.

There seems to be a big blind spot in Calgarys scouting department in that they keep targeting the same type of defenseman in Kuznetsov, Boltmann, Jurmo and now Grushnikov, players who have next to no chance of becoming useful NHL players, and expecting different results.

Funny, but I trust Conroy’s assessment more than some no-name on CP.

Actually sad about this players departure.

Good luck with the Stars, Chris. I've found my playoff team it looks like!

Circle back in July!

Can’t undo what was done in the past so it should heed the warning of walking these guys to free agency and the minimum return it could get. Anyone who’s a vet and a ufa next year should be thrown out there in the next week or dealt this offseason. Maximize all values.

Grushnikov isn't a flashy prospect. But I guess maybe he turns into a Tanev type player in the future.
