Greer and Duehr missed practice today, so they might be holding Coronato out in case he needs to play tomorrow afternoon.

Rory Kerins really making a case to be called up at some point this season.

2g 1a in tonight's game to reach a point a game average. 15gp 8g 7a 15pts

Wranglers in first place in both their division and conference. Haven't skipped a beat despite all the call ups.

Trent Cull comparing Kerins to Zary
That’d be found money

I was a bit skeptical of the new coach before the season began, but that's certainly gone away. He's clearly doing an excellent job. Can't believe Kerins, way to go kid!

Yes. Some people were quite sure that the Wranglers would fall off a cliff after Mitch Love left. Others were sure it would happen if Wolf was recalled to the Flames. Neither has happened. That is a credit to the coach, and to the whole team, really.

small numbers (on all of them to be fair), but > PPG in 20 or 21 year old AHL season for Coronato, Zary, Kerins and Poirier is all quite something

then Pospisil and Klapka at or around those marks at 22. really remarkable what the system has been able to provide recently

One thing this organization seems to have dialed-in is identifying exactly what level of hockey their prospects should be playing at to maximize development. Kerins is one example - team decides he's not quite up to snuff in his first year pro, so he plays the whole year in the ECHL. Now he's finding his footing at the AHL and could be on track to eventually play some games on the big team.

Zary is another example. The moment he proved he was too good for the AHL (10 points in 6 games to start this year) he is called up to the Flames.

It's easy to take pot shots at the team up North, but you look at a player like Holloway and I feel very confident in saying that he would be a much different player if he came up through our system.

Brad Pascal deserves a lot of credit. The Flames went from one of the worst farm systems that was in disarray from top to bottom. It's now one of the better ones from top to bottom.

They support the prospects with good AHL depth as well. It brings stability to all lines and increases the overall quality of the squad.

What is also great about the season so far, is that the Wranglers aren't relying on AHL "ringers" for offense.

What I mean by ringers are those AHL vets (6+ years in the A) that put up a ton of points in the AHL, but can't cut it in the NHL. Basically brought into to carry the AHL team with maybe a callup.

Guys like TJ Tynan, Andrew Poturalski, Chris Terry, Rocco Grimaldi, etc.

Kerins coming back from near dead would absolutely be found money.

Thought he was toast after last years abysmal 1st pro season.

Good for him

Good for the Flames

Weird game for the Wranglers today... Scored two shortys, and a weird flukey diving goal off the faceoff. They had the lead or it was tied the entire game until the OT loss.

I was at the game (first time for me). Sloppy game overall by both teams. Kerins was quiet until he scored.

Lambert also looked awful for most of the game. Talent is there but something is missing. Showed his skill in 3 on 3 and then something happened after he scored between him and Dansk, because Dansk was hot at him, and kept trying to get back to him, while yelling at him. I figure Lambert chirped him or something after he scored.

If you look at the Wranglers' leading scorers on a per-game basis, Dryden Hunt is the only player in their top 8 who's over 25. And he and DeSimone are the only ones that are over 25 in their top 10.
