At this point I don’t even blame Markstrom. It’s February and everyone under the sun knows what we have in him. This is strictly on coaching that they continue to force feed starts to a guy who has zero confidence and terrible stats. Why continue to reward him and choke points away.

Sutter will no doubt point he finger and blame his usual suspects but this is on him. His coaching has been incredibly weak and I assign a ton of blame for his tactics this season. You can’t continue doing this and expect different results. The fact that a two time Stanley cup champion is so naive is unacceptable and in my opinion should cost him his job.

I don’t care what he did last season. If he can’t figure it out then it’s time to say goodbye. I’m sure the players wouldn’t be opposed to that either. I’ll mention once again that I was a HUGE Sutter fan but I’ve seen enough. Problem is we don’t even know who’s calling the shots anymore. Does BT even have a say anymore with what to do with an underperforming out of sync coach? What a mess this team is. Calgary Flames will always find a way to Calgary Flame themselves in the foot.

Meh they played good, it’s a high offence team so no surprise they tied it. Markstrom should have saved some of those, don’t think Vladar is the answer either, try Wolf

Yeah, this team is getting points in spite of Markstrom’s play.

I can understand giving him the start again tonight but after a finish like that you just can’t anymore. Everyone in that room knows it, including Markstrom. Yikes.

Last rant of the night. Hanifin is completely overmatched against anyone with elite puck skill. The guy defends great against 3rd liners but just can’t handle anyone with talent. The greasy ####s up north make it the most obvious but it was apparent again tonight.

It’s absolutely insane that Toffoli is the brightest spot on the team right now. A guy who should be maybe a team’s 4th or 5 best forward and he’s the only guy driving the bus.

If Markstrom and Huberdeau were just 80% of the players there were last year this team is 1st in the Pacific and if they were on last years level they are first in the West handily. Our “best” forward and franchise goalie have completely #### the bed and this team sits on the bubble. They really need to give Vladar 5-6 games in a row

They were hardly walked.
Scoring big goals in a tightly contested playoff games is a significant factor in playoff success, so are key saves. Does any part of what you've seen this year give you faith that this team has that ability? Hell they can't even do it right now, they are somehow going to figure that out when the hockey intensifies x100000?

As much as it pains me to say, the Flames literally have next to no chance against the Avs and the Oilers IMO, both for different reasons. Team is too slow and lacks skill. The goalie is a sieve and has the mental makeup of an adolescent.

Every other player is judged on meritocracy - why does a goalie get to keep playing, simply because he is the '#1 guy'?

The OT goal looked like an impossible shot to score on an NHL goalie, but somehow Markstrom glitched and turned into a hologram to let it through him

He's cost us about 6-7 places in the standings with his brainfarts

I'd be scared to play in front of him too .. these guys are only human. on the 3rd goal they still kept everything to the outside, but to no avail

The New York game did not make me mad. It was a fun one.

The Detroit game was frustrating and emblematic of the season.

This was just horrible. 3-1 with 3 minutes left against a losing team? You have to lock it down. I was on the “too early to panic about Markstrom” train before, but, yeah. Panic about Markstrom.

Ottawa was 24-24 and has lost less games total than the flames

but the point still stands, you can't lose that one

Tying goal and winning goal were carbon copies. Made sense that Stutzle went for it.

Also feels like people have been saying "we can't start him anymore" since like, November? Yet here we are.

25-27, but yeah. I guess the Flames are 25-29 now. So disappointing.

Never said they would win. But I definitely push back in saying they have no chance or would get walked.

Colorado is not without its faults this season. They’re clearly not the same team this year and Edmonton is far from some juggernaut.

Whether or not the Flames get in is a different story but if they do, they won’t embarrass themselves.

Flames have been very unlucky in OT this season. Usually closer to a coin flip

They're what, 3-11?

You can bleed a few extra points, but not this many

Edit: I guess SOs factor into the 11 losses
