Was talking this year so far...team is 1-3 and he is minus 3. Not exactly knock Toffoli down the lineup numbers this season.

More about how the Flames are playing vs. how the Wranglers are playing so far...seems ridiculous to think the Flames are going to randomly call up some AHLers right now.

Purely a coincidence, lol. But he's probably been the best player on the team despite the slow start — him or Sutter. The guy who hasn't been good is Pelletier. Zary has been solid too but he's a minus-7! It's really skewed by the goaltending.

I do think they need to replace Lewis but pining for call-ups right now isn't realistic. For now, the Flames' lineup is fine.

This seems likely, yes, and I would add that it makes sense to delay that move as long as possible.

Right now we have about 1.5M in cap space. That can get us a better 3rd liner, maybe.

At trade deadline however we would have room to add about 6M in cap hit. That's enough for a new top 6 level forward, which would let us move one of Dube, Mangiapane or Toffoli (or the new guy) to Backlunds wing, adding a whole new level of scoring depth.
