Sad to see him go, even though he wasn't the same player the last couple of seasons. Moneyhands was great for the Flames and part of many good memories. He was such an easy guy to cheer for.

Crazy to think that hug between Monahan and Gaudreau after the G7 OT goal in round one would be the last memory of those two together as Flames.

You know Kadri is licking his chops to have Lucic on his bottom 6.

Oh my, that 2nd line would be so nasty! I can't wait, this team is going to look way different this season. I really hope we see a different Toffoli and Coleman this season, just step it up a bit.

Monahan and a 1st to Montreal for what? a possible pick? Not sure I like this, but had to be done to make space.

I feel like Monahan is going to bounce back, he has to in a contract season and I think with his hips ready to go, he will be a solid 2nd line centre. We'll see.

If it does end up being Florida's pick...
Tkachuk, Monahan, and 2025 4th Round Pick

for

Huberdeau, Weegar, Schwindt, and cap space to sign Kadri

Will miss Monahan. He was a good dude and it sucks injuries affected his career so adversely. Long live Purple Gatorade.

FLA 1st?

So Tkachuk for Huberdeau, Kadri, Weegar, Schwindt.

Well he wasn’t a part of the Florida trade. I’m just looking at the deal and all the pieces involved.

Bonne Chance in Montreal Monahan. Thanks for giving us hope when the Iggy era ended!

Did Hoffman play on Huberdeau line while in Florida for 2 years?

Well, also Gaudreau out. And, I suppose, Gudbranson. If you count Kadri, you have to count them. I guess you'd add Rooney, who may be undervalued.

I kind of the see end result of the trades as Tkachuk and Monahan cap dump for Weegar, Huberdeau and Schwindt. Calgary essentially traded Monahan as part of that deal, since the first is supposedly being used for the dump.

Ah, that makes sense. I kind of figured that's what you were doing but technically Kadri shouldn't be on there either.

Either way - not bad asset management.

I’m just looking at the Florida trade. It costs the Flames the Florida 1st to open up the room to sign Kadri

I think he is looking at just the Tkachuk trade tree in isolation, not just players in and out since the end of the season.

Edit: Never mind, I am slow. My client can speak for himself.

No Kadri if Gaudreau stayed though and maybe even Huberdeau, might have gone a different trade route for Tkachuk.

Just factoring in that Florida first round pick as being the piece needed to open up the space to sign Kadri
